I have been using this soil to garden in 25 gallon fabric containers as well as in 15 gallon pots for my avocado and mango trees. I also use it as my go to soil for all my outdoor potted plants. I have never used a better soil. All my plants thrive in this soil. And for those reviewers who complain of fungus gnats, this is an ORGANIC soil folks. That means it has life in it, microorganisms that benefit your plants. If fungus gnats concern you, try a sterilized soil in which your plants won’t thrive as they will in Performance Organics Container Mix. It’s the BEST!

I live in indiana and first time growing sugar baby watermelons we have had some really cold and wet days here now we are going into heat advisory. but we helped then out on cold days. brought inside , use the performance garden soil for garden and container soil for pots , well soil was so good and soft and today this is june 16, we got our first flower on the waternelon in the pot, will use this product from now on, hard to believe all these bad reviews. makes you wonder if people want something free just had to give it a 5

I'm confined to a wheelchair so we bought a planter that I could plant some of my vegetables in on the deck. They've been in this mixture for about 3 weeks and they are no bigger than the day I bought them and appear to be dying The bottom leaves are turning yellow and falling off and then the next set of leaves turning yellow. I've always been a Fertiloam customer but my husband bought this because it is supposed to be good for raised beds. We won't buy it again.

I bought this brand to use in my above ground (waist high) planting containers. I have been weeding ever since. I have used other brands and never had this issue so we can't blame it on the birds or anything like that. I emptied the container and filled all 8 with this soil. Just unacceptable.

I have a large greenhouse and have used this product in the past two years with fine results, even recommending it to others. I bought new product in February to start seedlings and had a massive failure of plant growth. The seedlings simply could not flourish in this new product, which is exceptionally black and upon examination, exuded a strange smell. I had to start over with other organics soil, and my results were once again fine, but now I am two months late with all my plants due to the problematic "organic" mix from Miracle Grow. Something changed this year and I suspect there are many gardeners out there right now saying, "What has happened to my plants???" My ratings of this product are based on this year's product.

While small pieces of bark and twigs are intentional components of this product, you should not find large pieces of wood or bark. This product is made of composted forest products and other ingredients and does not contain actual soil. Composted forest products provide high organic content and nutrients without the concern for soil compaction which often occurs with potting mixes composed primarily of actual topsoil. The coarser material allows for air to reach the roots of the plant which improves plant performance. For years, professional growers have used potting media with a significant amount of bark pieces because it is a superior growing media for potted plants. We want you to be confident in our products. So I purchased two apple trees to put in the front yard I use the soil around the base of the roots of the trees then a month later both trees die from termites I had a bag remaining and I looked inside And inside or small white termites.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this bag of potting mix. It was a fine and fairly consistent mix. Only a few large twig like bits in it. No plastic, rocks, it garbage of any kind was found unlike other products I have used. Only down side I can see is the cost. It's quite expensive compared to noon organic mixes.

I'm using it for my tomato plants, perrinials and even my herbs and the results so far are downright amazing! This potting soil easily yields up to 2 times more bounty than any other potting soil I've used. It's already blended with aged compost which is so convenient. And it provides plants enough nutrition for up to 3 months which is perfect for me and my busy schedule. There's easy to follow instructions for transplanting and seeding right on the back of the bag. And there's even lighting, watering and repotting directions. Plus I absolutely love that this product is made from only organic and natural ingredients! It makes me feel so much better and safer about eating my tomatoes and herbs. And this all purpose container mix fits perfectly with my green lifestyle. I truly couldn't be happier or more impressed with this product! Highly recommended!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a plant at my mothers funeral a few years ago, and I have struggled to keep it alive and it has never bloomed a flower since I've had it. I tried the Mircle-Gro Performance and within two weeks we have our very first flower and then another 2 days we got our second flower. This was very easy to use, I just topped off the dirt that I currently have on the plant and even the leaves are looking better I am hoping that this will help keep the edges of the leaves from turning brown. It does seem to suck up the water so make sure you watch it and water as needed. Great product and easy to use.
