Mizkan Sweet Cooking Seasoning - Case of 6/12 oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mirin seasoning here is really good. Very clear has no unusual odor that sometimes happens with your plastic bottles. The glass bottles very sturdy, the package is very pleasant. Looking. The seal on it when you close the bottle doesn't feel like it's going to fall off. The poor spout is a little weird of a shape, but that is so that you don't pour it out too quickly, which is great because oftentimes you're not using a ton of it. The only issue that I had with it was the pull tab that was included, kind of pulls out like a carton of juice would, didn't work properly and actually ended up yanking off almost all of the plastic ring. Instead of opening it up. I actually need to grab a pair of pliers to get it open. Other than that one, everything about this is very nice.

I like how it can add a sweet flavoring to a tangy or spicy flavor. It blends well when one is wanting that sweet and tangy combination. I will continue to experiment with different recipes and find more uses. I will be using this to enhance my barbecues sauces. I like that the ingredients are more "natural" than other products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of my favorite recipes to make is Gyudon. It’s a Japanese rice bowl with beef and onions. The sauce is simple. Just soy, dashi broth and mirin. And this mirin does the trick. It’s delicious and intense but not too sweet. It also make sushi rice that much more delicious. And on Spam Musubi? Even better!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically don't use mirin in my cooking because I'm uncertain on which to choose. I typically replace mirin in a recipe with rice vinegar. However, I got this product and decided to use it in an Asian inspired recipe that consisted of ground turkey, bagged cabbage, onions, and garlic. As I cooked up the ground turkey, I added some of the mirin to cook it down. It has a vinegar and sweet smell. I think overall, it gave my food a nice balanced flavored of sweetness and a little tartness. I would definitely buy this again.
