The charging cable is okay. I like that it is short enough. The 2 reasons for the 3 stars: 1) the cap part that is protecting when inserting it came off when I pulled it out from the charger. 2) I thought it would connect to my Apple CarPlay in my car but it did not. Just kind of disappointed but at least it works in charging for now…..

Cable works (i.e. charges/connects) but the housing for the lightning connector tip is larger than the standard one shipped by Apple. This can cause problems with cases; I had to shave out the port opening on my case to get this cable to fit.

Normally, I find Monoprice has the best cables around, especially as so few of them have broken or had the jacket degrade (oxidize?) unlike more expensive ones (looking at you, Apple), This cable is an exception. The jacket has broken, and the sheathing is already shot (sticky). Avoid this one until it's redesigned/manufactured differently.

The thickness of these cables makes the Apple branded cables look toy-like. I purchased these to replace all of our OEM cables and there is a noticeable reduction in charging time! Hoping the added thickness will not deteriorate as quickly as the Apple cables, and so far they are extremely solid.

I don?t think this is up to par with past quality of Monoprice cables. I had it less than a month and pulled the cable out of my phone and the Lightning connector stayed in the phone and I was left holding the cable. Customer service was great and they shipped a new cable to me. I gave it an extra star for customer service. I hope the new cable performs normally.

They lasted about a year. I never moved them from my desk. Plugged in only once to the mac i.e. I plugged it in and left it plugged in. Of course I plugged in my iPad many times to the other end. It was fun while it lasted. So now I'm here trying to find a more reliable cable. I'd expect this if I shoved them into my computer case, or rolled them up or if the cat thought it was a kitty toy. But nothing like that happened. Totally stationary.
