I don't know why it took me so long to buy one of these. This allowed me to quickly identify a single broken wire in an old CAT5 run and re-wire to allow at least 100Mbps transmission (instead of gigabit) instead of just having a dead wire. Works great.
Doesn't work at all!

No matter what known-good cable I plug into it, the power indicator light just blinks - none of the test result lights illuminate. In POE finder mode it doesnt find any POE available at any port in my POE switch.. A piece of junk as far as I can tell.
works well, I hope the plastic case can take the abuse.

Lots of ethernet in my home studio. Needed tester to verify wiring. Found open data line into one room. Now I have to replace that line. House was pre-wired when built. Also found another spare cable had data pairs reversed from one end to the other. I’m using this tester on every ethernet cable that I use before installing those cables.
