This kit comes with an small HDMI to VGA converter and an HDMI cable. The converter measures 0.9 inches x 0.5 inches x 1.7 inches (23 x 12 x 42mm) and draws all the power it needs from the HDMI bus. The included 3-foot HDMI cable features an ultra-slim design with connectors that measure only 0.8 inches wide (21mm) and 0.5 inches (12mm) thick, so it won't block any adjacent ports on a laptop.
Important! This adapter does not support HDCP, so this will not work in a home theater system and will not support playback of HDCP protected DVDs and Blu-ray Discs from your computer.

The converter works well, but one end of the HDMI cable is coming apart when I try to remove it from the port on my laptop.

It’s not a stable connection which causes a blue tint on the screen.
Converting HDMI to VGA may be hard.

The audio connector in first adapter broke, but this was mostly to my rough treatment and frequent use as the adapter is on my desk and I moved the earphones from device to device a lot. But, there was always an audible hum in my and my listener's ears. The second adapter had the same hum but caused the monitor's image to be yellowed and streaked. I have a third adapter (bought two on my second order) but haven't used it as I am now using an external docking unit to make my multiple monitor setup. This HDMI to VGA adapter might be better served in an environment that does not require audio to be pulled from it.

Seems to be the wrong resolution for a couple of my monitors, produced a slightly blurry image. Otherwise, worked well for what it is. I'm still messing around with my monitor setup so it might be a configuration issue.
