i have 2 of these a natrual and a blond. everything was perfect except the electrical cavities are not insulated well. when I"m playing and my fingers touch the pick guard, I get static noise thru my amp on both of these guitars. I have 10+ guitars and these are the only 2 that make static noise thru my amp I will have to sell or get them insulated better.
Nice piece, Flawed handling

It's a really nice guitar. Has very well finished neck and frets. Fret ends were smooth as a baby's bottom. I am well satisfied with the Wilkinson parts and it was playable as set up from MP. I'm disappointed with the condition in which it arrived, ( see attached photos) but it didn't seem worth the trouble of sending it back.

Very impressed with my purchase. Right out of the box, it was ready to play. A minor intonation adjustment and I was ready to plug in! Also, for those that like pretty things, the finish is flawless and all of the shiny parts sparkle! Oh baby.... Like it so much I just purchased a matching Strat.
Very nice for the price!

The guitar and gig bag are nice. It's not a $1,000 guitar, but for under $200's, this is a very nice E. Guitar for any beginner or intermediate player that wants a different look and sound. It is a heavy guitar because of the Swamp Ash but the finish is beautiful and it is very playable without any modifications.
Beautiful Guitar With Issues

As I write this, I'm waiting for shipping instructions and a shipping label for a second replacement for this guitar. The first guitar I received had jammed saddles that could not be adjusted for intonation. I received a shipping label with instructions within 2 days of my request for a replacement. I appreciated the prompt response. I received the replacement within about 2 weeks. The replacement guitar had a hairline crack in the fretboard, and a loud hum which stops if I hold the bridge, which appears to be a grounding issue. I requested a second replacement, and am now waiting for a return shipping label. The response time for the second replacement has been slow.

Same issues others have stated. The guitar sent was not string through. Whoever their "master luthier" is that sets these up needs to find a new job. The bridge saddles were set up completely wrong and intonation was horrible. They also filed the nut down too low. The 13th fret needed filed down as it was sitting higher than the rest.

This is a great guitar. FedEx did a ding job on it, but otherwise it is amazing. Great tone and feel. Action was a touch high, but truss rod adjustment took care of that. The feel and look is solid. Ash is heavy, so no surprise there. But still a great tone through my Fender Mustang LT25 practice amp. Would definitely buy again... just wish they had a UPS option rather than FedEx. (FedEx in my area is notorious for damaging packages.). I plan to keep it, ding and all, as it is nothing more than I probably would have done in my own small studio area.

Pros: Beautiful Ash body with a nicer sunburst than I expected. Setup was decent out of box, needed Truss rod adjustment No sharp frets Decent pickups Satin finish neck Ships with good strings Cons: Website depicts a string through body, this guitar did not have a string through body. Very heavy. Sound nice, plays nice, doesn't cost much at all. Enjoying my new T-Style guitar from Monoprice

The Cherry Burst was shown as a string thru with steel saddles but came as a top loader with brass saddles. IT was also shown to have a tint on the neck and headstock but had none. Otherwise, was OK but very heavy.

I ordered this guitar because of the low price and positive reviews. Received the guitar fairly quickly. Pros: Well made with beautiful finishes Nice upgraded hardware Well setup on arrival Fun to play Sounds as a telecaster should Cons: Guitar pictured online was string through body, but guitar I received is not string though. I contacted Monoprice, and they apologized and offered full refund. Customer service experience was excellent. I enjoyed playing the guitar, so I declined the refund and kept it. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a nice playing guitar at a crazy low price.
Great guitar at an affordable price.

I have just started playing guitar again after 50 years in order to be able to play together with my grandson. This guitar is really nice for the price. Everything about it is great. No problem fret ends or any ather issues you'd expect from a guitar at this price. My first one came thru with a defective switch. Monoprice customer service was awesome. They emailed me an RMA to return it and sent me a replacement very quickly. I love their products and customer service.
Worth every penny and then some.

Great guitar. Better than an Affinity. The tuners are the "worst" point, not great for a guitar of this level. Otherwise, faaaantaatic. Check out the FB page for Indio by Monoprice guitars!
A wonderful platform, I prefer to mod!

It is definitely a solidly built guitar and built well, to a degree much higher than its price. I took a star off the rating due to the pickups. I also own the Cali DLX and it?s pickups sound much smoother and nicer, more unique, than the Tele pickups of the same model. The tone left me a little uninspired. I also would upgrade some of the hardware - like brass bridge saddles, better tuners. The two-piece ash body is beautiful and the finish is lovely. Like all Indio guitars, the biggest kudos go to the satin finish neck?and in the case of Cherry Burst, it has an aged finish to the neck as well. I recommend this guitar for its price?and consider upgrading the hardware and electronics for a spectacular guitar that would rival the name brands for a fraction of the cost.
Excellent Value . Great Quality control.

Can't lose owning this Telecaster clone. Quality finish and attention too detail. Have owned many guitars over the years and never owned a Telecaster so I picked the Retro DLX up for $200.00. Ash body wow ! Just like my 1978 Guild . If you buy one of these you'll be happy . Just make sure to check the plastic protective film on the pick guard . Mine actually had two layers and there was also a piece covering the front chrome pickup that is hard to even notice . Fast shipping .
Don?t be afraid to buy, well worth the money.

The quality of this guitar is quite surprising for the money. Most reviews talked about needing to file the frets, I didn?t have to do any of that. I took it straight to @Mike Guitar Parlor and he did a quick $60 set up on it, put .10 gauge strings and this baby rips. I plan to ad a couple more of these to my collection.

Well built. First one we received the strings were out of alignment but Monoprice quickly replaced it with the one we are using. Good finish of coating and wood is solid.

Got this on sale for $150 with free shipping, and I'd say that it's well worth it. The solid ash body is what you're paying for here (vs the regular non-DLX Plus), and it makes a difference both aesthetically and in adding some weight to the guitar. The setup, hardware, pickups, strings, etc. are all serviceable. Frets feel fine, but you may want to sand/polish the sides. At some point, I'll start replacing things (tuners, pickups, pots), but I don't feel an overwhelming need to do it now.

I am really enjoying my tele dlx. It was an exceptional value for an ash body guitar. Setup was wonderful. Nice low action with no major adjustments necessary. Just provided a little bit more neck relief. Intonation was spot on. Frets were level, nice and smooth, and no sprout. Nice tele twang in bridge position. Neck pickup was deep and full sounding. This is a somewhat heavy tele with mine coming in at 8.6 pounds. Thanks Monoprice.
