Monoprice Speaker Wire, Select, 2-Conductor, 16AWG, 50ft

This is a good high quality speaker wire. This is where Monoprice got its start and glad they are still doing a good job at it.

The wire worked perfectly and was easy to strip. One thing to know is that it does not come on a spool. Don't unwrap the plastic holding the wire and start pulling from outside the package. Pull the wire from the middle of the package. It is less prone to tangling but will be a bit "curly" at the beginning.

I would give it 5 stars, but the way it came wound like a ball of string made it like trying to unwind a Slinky. It took a long time to get straightened out, but otherwise it was great.

No surprises here. It?s a 50? roll of speaker wire. Most other stores had rolls that were way too short or way to long for what I needed. Thanks, Monoprice!

For not-fancy, inexpensive speaker wire this works and it will most likely be an upgrade over whatever is included in any surround sound / speaker system. The only catch is that stripping the ends without taking any strands along with the jacket is an art form. It was the most uncooperative speaker wire that I have ever worked with in that regard. If you don't want to drive yourself nuts upgrade to wire with a softer outer sleeve or burn the ends and pull the plastic off with your teeth like I did.

It?s wire. It does a good job being wire. Flexible and pliable and does corners well.

It does what it?s supposed to do! Well packed and a good value, as far as l can tell it?s good quality wire.

I bought the Select series 14ga wire for the surround channels in my portable outdoor movie projection setup. The distance from amp to speakers is less than 25 feet and the surround speakers are small so I went 14ga instead of 12ga in use for all of the other channels inthe setup. Sound wise, the wires are fine. Since this is a portable setup, I need to roll/unroll the wires every time the systems is used. The insulation on the Select Series seems to have more plastic mixed in making it easier for the wire to remember a bend/kink and difficult to 'flip-coil' roll the wire back up when finished. The insulation on the Choice Series is more flexible and rolls up much easier. For a permanent installation, the stiffer insulation shouldn't be a problem. Once rolled out, the wire stays flat.

Excellent and noticeable upgrade from the speaker wire I was previously using with the same speakers.

fantastic speaker wires and the price is just ridiculous. what else is there to say other than "they are just great plain speaker wire." bought the 14g but could have just as easily gone with 16g or 18g.

Mono price is full of quality and very convenient!!

A better choice at 25 ft or less when you intend to use banana plugs than the 12 gauge, as the quality is fine and the ease of fitting the plugs is substantially better.
