Big and loud

I assumed that a 15" speaker would be, well, 15 inches. Imagine my surprise when the giant speakers arrived, about 28 " tall, I think! (It must be that the speaker inside the housing is 15".) So I was not surprised, then, at how loud and clean the speakers sounded. I was glad I bought two, however, as the sound is somewhat directional and I needed sound to fill a large room.

Amazing Speakers

I purchased my second one a month ago and now they are out of stock, because everyone knows it is an amazing speaker. Will rock the party straight out the box. My mind is still blown with how much features you get with this speaker at this price. QSC, JBL, EV, Mackie, Turbosound, they are super expensive and your paying for the name instead of the quality. SR speakers, a fraction of the cost and double the power. I'll definitely purchase more when in stock!!

Perfect for Summer outdoor parties.

Blue)tooth connects to phone or outdoor theater projector 15"($299) that is very heavy but compliments perfectly. Sounds harsh at high volumes if you input a crappy MP3 phone source. Keep the controls down to 1/2 or 2/3. With a real high res input or CD sound much better. Arrived with box damaged on corner and dent on metal grill. Packing on the corners needs to be full length not just bottom and top.

Amazing value for your money

I have been DJing for close to 20 years and used a variety of passive and active speaker setups. The SRD215s by Monoprice absolutely blows all competitive products out of the water. Comparable speakers with similar power output, such as the Mackie Thump 15s, will run you around double the price (or more). I am very happy with these speakers, the construction is very solid and stylish, and the sound is LOUD and crisp. For smaller gigs I don't even need to pair them with subwoofers. 10/10 would buy again!

A Happy Living Room

I run a SR mixer with five microphones hooked to these 15" powered PA speakers and love them. Read the real specs about RMS ratings in the manual (not the item title's maximum) and you won't get your feelings hurt. Their Bluetooth is monaural but you can piggyback if you don't have a stereo input when using a pair. They'll work with any mixer for mono or stereo. The cases are well built, not lightweight plastic, solid for good acoustics. This is a good deal at full price but catch it on sale and smile. They look and sound good and for the price can't be beat.

Hood speakers that could be great with some additions.

Decent Speakers. I bought these as a backup to a major name brand speakers that I use as my mains. I do a lot of work as a mobile DJ. This weekend I had a medium sized gig that was outdoors. I decided to go Snead and take these and give them a run. I had a 2.5 hr show and it was about 88 degrees out with high humidity. The speakers surprised me in a pleasant way. First they look great, they look like they cost a lot more than they did. The power was actually surprisingly good. I did not run a sub at this gig as I assumed the 15?s would eliminate my need for a sub. The speakers operated great for the 2.5hrs and I had no problems with them overheating, clipping or cutting out. Sound was clear and was excellent. Highs were nice, Miss were good and the bass, well it was lacking a bit. However I feel I could?ve remedied that with a graphic EQ. I just ran straight from my controller to the speakers so all I had for sound shaping was the high, mid, lows knobs on my Denon 7000 controller. I run a MacBook Pro into that. I also use all monoprice xlr cables and I invested in the nicer ones. I run all monoprice cables in all my rigs for DJ, sound and drumming (mics) and I love them. They have been excellent. Back to the speakers. They had more volume than I thought they would, the sound was clear and nice, pleasant and not harsh and the bass, even though it wasn?t as good as I hoped, I still think a 15band or 31 band eq would fix that along with a sonic maximizer. I would?ve liked to have had more tone control built into the speaker besides the built in DSP knob. At least a setting for Highs and lows like most major brands have in addition to the DSP. For the $220 price tag I will take them and gladly use them anytime. They look modern and professional. They are heavier than I thought they would be which means either the amp and mounting plate is heavy, or the magnet on the woofer is beefy or both. I would feel confident running these for a longer gig, using them for a PA for my band or using as a monitor for my drums. I have EQs and Sonic Maximizers I will try those next and update. If you are on a budget, these speakers are great. If you want EV or QSC sound, there?s a reason why those speakers are priced higher. Monoprice did great with these. Another Stage Right product that I am happy to own and use and proud to use. They really look top notch and perform better than any ?budget? speaker out there like Behringer or Alto. Stage Right 15? speakers I give you 4 stars. One star off for no time shaping besides the preset DSP settings. Enjoy

Well-made, but not as loud as expected

These speakers are large, heavy (around 40 pounds) and appear to have decent controls and connections. I was a little disappointed that they weren't as loud as I had expected for something advertised at 1400W, (although if you look further into the specs, it is actually only 350 Watts continuous. Still, I had thought that it would be louder. In spite of that, it's good for my use, and a good deal for the price.

I couldn?t be happier!! I ran this speaker this past weekend at a large event in Manhattan Beach Ca and I ran 4 of them?.I got each speaker for around $250?this four speakers at Peak 1400 Watts totally of Peak Power output of 5,6000 for $1K is unheard of. I was running each speaker at it?s max and I can?t tell you how amazed I was at their clarity?even when peaking! I do NOT think you can find a better speaker at this price and would recommend such to anyone! Sure, it?s not going to give you QSC quality ($1500 more per speaker) in return however these speakers do NOT sound like a low-priced speaker?.like a Harbinger, Alto or other low-end speakers.

For showing up 2 hours before a gig I tried them. And was surprised

Had a small steak fry this past Saturday. About 200 people. I used these on the outer edges of inside of building and paired them with a competitors dual powered 15 laid on its side center stage. Was just a soloist. So I didn?t take any subs. I was pleasantly surprised with their capability. I took a split line in feed from the main on an usc and ran them at the first dsp setting and only at a quarter. And I had more than enough volume. Of course I Shot them with noise and did an rta. But I am impressed. Let?s hope they hold up

Stage Right vs Alto TS315

Comparing to Alto TS315. The Stage Right speaker has by far better bass and tone. Highs similar but I have had constant problems with the Alto tweeters burning out. Please Monoprice develop a Stage Right DJ/PA ported sub to go with these!!! I have the Monolith 15" sub which is amazing... betting you could make a killer PA sub also. Incredible products!

Great output, great value, could easily be improved!

Considering all you get at this price, this speaker is excellent for a beginner DJ or band. Output is surprising and build quality seems ok considering price.Transducers seem rather beefy, although electronics seem a little quickly put together, but there is a 1 year warranty. I was only able to purchase one (Amazon had one left) but am considering a second to add to my collection of powered speakers as they are great as backups and have bluetooth, which is great for ceremonies. Front grill arrived dented and power cord only functions intermittently (I have plenty of others so I replaced myself), but I am hoping I can get a replacement grill with my second order? Also, since there is DSP in here, a significant improvement would be a notable reduction at around 2K, as it there seems to be a big bump there, and reducing this inherent response anomaly in the overall frequency response of the speaker would make it sound much less harsh out of the box and at louder volumes IMO. Add a little top end sparkle at around 10k and a bass boost in the 60hz region and you?re golden. Great value overall and professional looking too.

After purchasing their 15w all-tube guitar amp, I thought I could count on the brand to save money and still get a great product. I was right. I use it to monitor virtual amp/cab sims for bass but I'm sure it would work well for any application.

SRD215 is pretty nice

These are some really nice speakers. The only thing missing is maybe some onboard eq. The DSP is good. These are fairly comparable to my Mackie Thump15s. They can be a little sharp on the high end, but nothing a decent equalizer won't fix. I DJ and do Karaoke shows and these speakers are powerful and clear for the price. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a nice set of speakers.
