Monoprice SSVC-4.1 Single Input 4-Channel Speaker Selector With Volume Control, Impedance Protection, Individual Zone On/Off Buttons

I bought to replace an uncontrolled speaker selector for 4 sets of speakers in and outside my house. Really liked the plug-in terminals. However, after a couple weeks, one of the push button switches failed to the off position. I now have one speaker set that is effectively dead.

I run my 'B' speakers from my main living room AV amp to the rear of the house and into this unit. I then have speakers run to the kitchen, bathroom, basement and backyard. This little piece of wonder allows me to select which speakers and adjust volume as well. Feels like a well made product. Heavy. Solid on/off buttons. Satisfying clicks on the volume control. Great speaker wire connectors. No issues. Great product. Thanks again MONOPRICE!!!!!

Very heavy duty construction, works great. Removable connector blocks make it a snap to hook up speaker wires and ensure no shorts. Price is a third of the same product from Niles Audio, no difference in quality. Monoprice delivers as always!

Exactly as advertised. I had 3 sets of speakers previously installed all with their own volume control switch. I installed a fourth set on a new patio but did not have a volume control. I was able to hook up this speaker selector in line with the other volume control knobs with no ill effects and can now control the volume on the 4th set of speakers. Good quality product.

Unit works great, fairly easy to install. Solved our problems of controlling speakers under porch outside. Before switching to B channel on Sony receiver those speakers played as well as those in house. Now have full control of outside speakers to blast beach music at neighbors. By selecting channel 4 on new controller and cutting other 3 channels off, just music outside.

So far, so good. I wish the volume increment stops were a little tighter or more accurate but they also aren't a necessity. Works well.

After ordering this unit, I looked back in my records and found that I had bought one of these speaker selectors for our vacation home several years ago, returned it and got a much more expensive Niles unit in its place. I no longer remember why I returned the Monoprice, but having now connected it to my amplifier and four sets of speakers in our main home, I am very happy with it. The connector blocks pop out easily for wiring (and pop back in easily once wired up), the controls are simple and work smoothly, the sound from the speakers is good, and I finally have the ability to separately control the volume in the different rooms, meaning I can have the speakers on our deck at a reasonable volume without blasting out the ears of whoever is listening in the kitchen. Seems excellent value for the money.

It works fine but inserting the wires was a bear! I have whole house in-wall speakers and wires were a bit thick to be inserted easily. Used thinner speaker wire to hook up to receiver and they were almost too thin. Otherwise, it does the job.

The speaker wire clips that push into the female pin-receptacles in the back of the selector tend to pull out if there is any pull from the speaker wires, which wouldn't happen if they snapped into place, otherwise it works well and is well built.

This unit works well and as advertised. Very heavy duty and all metal construction except for the plastic knobs. I’m using 3 of the 4 zones and each work perfectly. The wire connectors are excellent as you can easily remove them while attaching your speaker wire. Highly recommend!
