Q: Will it work for my headphones to my TV?
submitted by JJ LeS - 4 years ago
A: Thank you for your question! This adapter is made for devices with USB-C, if your TV has a USB-C input then it should work.

Broke in a month

Poor quality. Only one earbud worked consistantly when plugged in, and I had to continually make sure it was plugged all the way in and in the correct position. After a month, it is completely unusable. I will not be buying again.

This is my second time purchasing this item and it malfuntions and dies in a matter of weeks. First time it lasted a couple months, but I didn't use it regularly. The second purchase died within weeks, and keep in mind I used it spraingly. If you used it everyday, it probably wouldn't last more than a week. It's a cheap price which is great, but sadly even $10 is a waste of money for this product. If I could rate it -5, I would.
Not that durable

For context, my 13 year old is the user of this product. It got bent pretty quickly and although still functional I'm waiting for it to break and I'll need another solution.

Just what I needed to use my better headphones with my new Samsung phone. Great fidelity.
Works as required, but needed some modifications for my car

While driving and playing there were issues with the cable -- the phone would say it's disconnected from the cable frequently. I believe that this was due to the cable being rather floppy and the connection flaking out when it wiggled. The 'fix' was to stiffen the cable with some packing tape rolled around it and a rubber band to hold it to the phone in such a way that the cable itself would not be vibrating. This appears to work very effectively now.
Good idea that didn’t work

This stopped working after about a month. I can use it to listen but not to talk.
Does the job right.

Works exactly as I would expect with my Pixel 6. I bought them for my cars and anywhere I like to hook into a stereo. Better fidelity than Bluetooth.

I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy A53 phone, which does not have a earbud jack. I used this adapter to connect my earbuds to the phone's USB-C port. It works perfectly.

I needed a way to allow my 2022 Android phone to "talk" with my 2003 COMAND system. This works perfectly.
DOES NOT WORK with Samsung Galaxy S20 - It is missing the DAC chip

I bought four of these adaptors for my Samsung Galaxy S20 so I could leave one in my work truck, one in my own car, one at work, and have a spare. None of them work! After a lot of Google searches I found that these types of USB C to 3.5 mm adaptors need an internal "DAC chip". This product description does not mention that one very important detail.
It worked for maybe a month

Worked maybe 3 times and then audio cuts out of one channel permanently. Ordered a replacement and the exact same thing happened. Not recommended.

I've got about 2-3 dozen uses out of this thing before it fritzed out. If the wire wiggles even slightly, the audio crackles and disappears.

It does not work with stereo headphones. Do you have a USB-C Digital to 3.5 mm Auxiliary adapter that will allow stereo sound?
You get what you pay for

I bought two of these to replace my original from my phone. You get what you pay for. The primary Pro is that they're cheap. The real Con for me so far is that they seem to deliver almost mono sounds. I get far more sound out of my right headphone than my left. Doesn't matter which pair I'm wearing. Probably because they're so cheap.
Shoddy wiring

The wiring is very fragile. My music playback wasn't smooth, the sound would stop and start again. If I used my wired earbuds with this adapter and put the phone in my pocket, the sound would stop. If I move the adapter wire 90°, the sound stops. Not worth the purchase price.

Works fine for converting a USB-C only phone for headphones. This is the missing piece for Samsung smartphones. Unfortunately, you can't charge it at the same time you listen unless you have either a USB-C hub or a wireless charger.

Bought 2, accidentally damaged one by letting it fall in the DC adapter port in my car. Purchased a couple more to go with different sets of headphones etc. Original samsung adapter has slightly better quality, but not enough to justify spending more. No build quality complaints after regular use for a couple months with the Monoprice product.
