My mistake for not really looking at the back of the packaging before telling my 6 year old he could buy it. This is just as bad as surprise toys. Why not let it color change back to the dirty color.

Child loves it very much, especially when he finds out that the car will appear a different color compared to the color that he received it. He wants to cover it with mud again, so he gets to wash it off with water again. It is now his favorite bath toy. If your child likes cars and like surprises, then this product would be recommended to him or her.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to like this because we (as in my 4 year old and I) have lots and lots of other monster trucks from Spin Master and frequently monster jam shows. The toy, as per usual, was good quality, great for tiny hands and suitable for lots of flipping and flying. The 'mystery mud' aspect was a brief moment of excitement. Once it washes off, that's it. It's just a normal truck again. Prior to that, my son already knew which one be had ("It's Grave Digger! I have Grave Digger!") because the muddy coat didn't cover some parts of the truck like the underside and a corner of the truck's body.

A neat collector idea because there are over 100 different versions of it. Washing it off was a quick process so that excitement was kind of short lived. Still a great idea for kids that love monster trucks though!

As soon as we received this mud covered mystery monster truck we started to guess what colour would be under the mud. It was so much fun washing the mud off of it and cheering for the one who had the right guess. This toy is well constructed, brightly coloured and the perfect size for growing hands. The detail put into the paint job on these little monster trucks is incredible. The sink rinsed out easily without any staining from the mud which made this mama very happy.
