The product is a good value. It is solid and heavy, with a great look. Assembly instructions are missing detail, so it is best to review instructions at least four times. Manufacturer is responsive, but has yet to fix the instructions. With careful attention to all the details one can succeed. Be sure to label all the parts first.

Took forever to put together , within minimum of putting it together it was breaking , i had missing pieces , it’s smaller than i thought so my mattress looks huge compared to headboard ,pieces were falling off while assembling , i wish i got a real headboard and not something with storage it definitely Looks better online than in person. Id probably recommend to a kid

I was worried about the assembly because prior reviews stated problems with holes. Assembly took about an hour but I wasn't working at top speed. Didn't have any problems. Pieces are not labeled but if you look carefully at the diagrams you can tell and there aren't that many to confuse. Laminate covering is pretty thin and have a few dings from shipping/assembly. Piece looks nice and works. Not fancy hand crafted but certainly acceptable for the price.

It's fine... It's really heavy material? Not really sure what it is.. Some type of composite wood? The instructions weren't super clear bc parts weren't labeled... Had they been labeled it would have went quicker. But despite that it really didn't take me too long to decipher which parts were which by shape and where the holes were in conjunction with the pics. As far as I can tell... It's sort of free standing... Don't know if it's supposed to attach to my bed, but don't know how it could. But color matches my bed frame perfectly. And it's cheap enough for how long I think it'll last. It really isn't too bad a quality and it's sturdy all put together. All the holes lined up perfectly where they were supposed to and all.

This headboard has character AND it's a great place to store some light bedtime reading, various and sundry knickknacks, and your spare change. It is quite sturdy and has held up well for almost 5 years now! We have some of the other matching pieces, too, and like the clean look of the Monterrey line.

I bought this for my son and he loves it. It was very easy to put together. Very sturdy.

I really like the look of the bookcase headboard. It matches ther Monterey 6 drawer pedistal bed frame. The look in my room of new bed and headboard is very nice.

looks nice, assembly easy (single person can do it), 1 hour to put together. I was disappointed because i thought the backing would be black as shown in the picture, but it's not, it matches the rest of the wood- but it still looks great. the mattress doesn't slide under the headboard as i've seen other reviews say, read directions fully first. Ive sometimes even had to read ahead to figure out what they meant as directions are a little vague, but still easy to follow. it does fit full or queen nicely. good piece of furniture, beadroom looks finished now! love it
