This book is an absolute gem of a children's book, and I can't sing its praises enough as a parent of a two-year-old. This book has quickly become a staple in our household, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent looking for a fun and educational read for their little one. What makes Mouse Paint so fantastic is its simplicity. The story follows three curious mice who discover jars of paint and proceed to explore mixing colors in creative ways. My son was immediately drawn to the bright and bold illustrations, and I loved how the simple storyline kept him engaged from start to finish. But beyond its entertainment value, Mouse Paint is also a fantastic educational tool. As the mice experiment with mixing primary colors to create secondary colors, children are introduced to basic color theory concepts in a fun and accessible way. My son loved following along as the mice dipped and danced in the colorful puddles, and I could see his curiosity and understanding of colors growing with each reading. Another aspect of Mouse Paint that I appreciate as a parent is its interactive nature. The story invites children to participate by guessing what colors will be created when the mice mix different paints, encouraging active engagement and critical thinking skills. I would also recommend similar books in the series such as Mouse Count and Mouse Shapes as well.
