A: Thank you for your question. Mucinex® Fast-Max® Adult Liquid Severe Congestion & Cough contains guaifenesin, dextromethorphan, and phenylephrine. Guaifenesin is not known to cause drowsiness. The active ingredient dextromethorphan has been shown to produce drowsiness in some patients. Phenylephrine is known to be a stimulant which can be considered non-drowsy. These three ingredients together cannot be considered non-drowsy due to the inclusion of dextromethorphan.

A: Thank you for your question. Mucinex® Fast-Max® Adult Liquid Severe Congestion & Cough contains the active ingredients guaifenesin, dextromethorphan, and phenylephrine. Guaifenesin is not known to cause drowsiness. Dextromethorphan has been shown to produce drowsiness in some patients. Phenylephrine is known to be a stimulant which can be considered non-drowsy. These three ingredients together cannot be considered non-drowsy due to the inclusion of dextromethorphan. Hope this helps.

A: Thank you for your interest in Mucinex® Fast-Max® Severe Congestion & Cough liquid. You should not use this product if you are currently taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI prescription drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, speak with your Doctor before taking this product. Hope this helps.

For each one I purchased I had to find two gentlemen to get the cap off the bottle. I am 76 with arthritis in my hands and cannot remove the caps from the liquid bottles. Each gentleman had to exert extreme pressure to remove the cap. I have a deep gag reflex when trying to swallow large tablets, thus, the need for liquid medicine.

Had high hopes for this brand and product. Saw some reviews about how hard it is to peel the thin stickers on the back to read the instructions. It's not so bad. The product itself is very expensive and totally useless. Taking it 20ml each time, it doesn't last very long. Expensive doesn't matter as long as it works, but it doesn't. I don't understand why either. The active ingredients (cough suppressant, nasal decongestant) are exactly the same as the ones in Nyquil. Whenever I took Nyquil, my cough would stop right away but Nyquil made me really tired even after a long night of sleep. This product didn't stop the coughs at all. I'm almost done with the bottle since buying it on Sunday. Took it before bed last night. I coughed before falling asleep. I woke up middle of the night and coughed so much. Never buying Mucinex again.
