Q: Can this be used to store soiled cloth diapers? Or would they be hard to retrieve?

A: Good morning, the Munchkin PAIL Diaper Pail, Powered by Arm & Hammer is not intended for storing purposes. Every time the lid closes, the rotating mechanism will twist to shut the diaper refills and will not be easy to retract the soiled cloth diapers.

Does an excellent job at containing the smell. I have both the step version and non step in different rooms. If I were to be buying again, I’d do two of these without the step because the top clicks closed but is easily opened with one hand.

This listing is not accurate. It shows photos of the munchkin STEP that is opened by foot, but this is the PAIL that needs to be opened by hand. Very misleading!

The images for this are misleading. We thought we were buying the “Step” version, because those are the first images you see, but this is actually for the basic “Pail” version, which doesn’t have a foot opener. Kind of disappointing

This pail makes the loudest screeching noise when you shut it. It does not mask the odor at all, in fact, I think this pail makes the diapers smell worse. Would not recommend.

This diaper pail is a good size. However, it does not remain close. We have to constantly close it. I like the fact that when you close it, the diapers file to the bottom and then it comes with the place for the air freshener however, the door just will not stay close, which is not attractive.

Got this to replace a regular garbage can b/c I wanted to minimize odors. This does the job. The only issue I've come across is the "Self-sealing system" - when you close the lid, it supposed to spin to seal the bag but you have to close it just right or it won't happen. The bags fill up pretty quickly so I have to change it more but that also minimizes odors.

It is very easy to use and can fit in a bunch of diapers before the bag needs to be changed but doesn't take up too much room. It is especially good for those early days when baby has so many diaper changes and goes through so many diapers. I like the combination of the sealed bag with the lavender baking soda. I think it does a good job containing smells. Although I am still one to take any very dirty diaper straight out of my house to the outdoor trash can, PAIL is good to have around because there are a lot of dirty diapers with a baby and sometimes no time to run outside. It is easy to change the refill ring to get new bags. The white color and sleek design fit in well with my nursery decor and would really blend seamlessly into any style. I really like that it comes fully assembled. I would recommend PAIL.

I like the flip top lid as it does a great job of closing the pail tight to keep odors in. The self sealing design of the bag is nice as well. I like that it’s designed to twist the bags closed tight. The included baking soda puck also does a great job of limiting odors. I appreciate its compact size since we are limited on space and it works well for our small room. Overall a great diaper pail and I highly recommend for any mom with a little one in diapers. To note: I received this diaper pail in exchange for my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pail keeps the smell inside. It’s not totally intuitive so you do have to read the instructions. The refill rings are a continuous tube. You tie off the end to create the bottom of the bag, and when it is full, you cut the bag with some excess length (there is a cutter on the pail) and tie it off, then tie the bag line to start the next bag. My only gripe with this is that the side door doesn’t code properly, it seems like it’s closed but every time I open and close the trash can, the side door pops open. I would also say just upgrade to the one step pail for a more efficient diaper change.

It’s also easy to and swap out the bags but isn’t overly easy to open the lid when using. All in all, this is a really nice pail! The technology is amazing, it works well, and looks nice! It’s pretty much ready to go right out of the box- so put it to the test. It comes with a lavender scented puck that inserts in the top of the pail- the scent is just right, not overpowering at all. My favorite feature is the self sealing system- it literally stops odors. I can’t believe the difference- even when opening the lid. I’m obsessed with how well this works!!! I am going to buy this for my friends as shower gifts too- I’m that satisfied with it. I have twins so it gets full and it is easy to get the bag out of it too. it really comes in handy plus it look good too. received it in exchange of my honest opinion.

I love that the pail came ready to use and there was no assembly required on my part. The baking soda puck really does seem to help control the diaper odor. There is no bad smell emitting from the pail when I open the lid to add another diaper. I just wish there was a way to open the lid hands-free. Once the bag is full, removing it is simple. This would make a great baby shower gift!
