R. Simone (Roneeka Brown) was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. Simone graduated from The University of Michigan-Flint with a B.A. in psychology. Simone takes pride in creating stories that are relatable, suspenseful, and realistic, yet encouraging and thought-provoking. She is committed to writing about taboo or uncomfortable topics that are plaguing the black community. Simone loves volunteering and working with youth, encouraging them to make proactive and planned decisions for their lives. She lives in Flint with her husband and three children.
