    Purchased to replace my basic wireless keypad. Initially very excited to have the additional features presented by this device. However, as described in the product description & installation guide, the one-touch close feature does not work. Sadly, this will not work as I need a keypad that my children that don't have phones, or guests that don't have the MyQ app, can close the door after exiting. Customer service has been less than helpful with addressing the issue.

    Was super easy to set up. Video was clear. Keypad worked fine. After the first month, realized the battery setup is pretty awful. Charging every month is bad and it takes hours to charge. Bought a second battery recently. Since then it will not connect to my system. I've reset everything. Followed all the setup. When it gets to the pairing to wifi the Bluetooth drops. Tried to set it up on several phones and computers. I would never purchase a battery wifi keypad again. In general very poor design.

To maximize the battery life of your myQ Video Keypad, we recommend setting your Motion Sensitivity Meter to either the low, or lowest setting. This will ensure your keypad is only capturing events immediate to your garage door proximity. Wi-Fi signal strength also plays a significant factor in the battery life performance of your device. You can view your Wi-Fi network strength in the myQ app under the Video Keypad Device Management Settings section. There are several ways to improve your Wi-Fi connection for your device, including moving your router closer to your device or purchasing a Wi-Fi extender. The myQ Video Keypad must be within 50 feet of your Wi-Fi router if it is broadcasting a 5GHz signal. If you connect to a 2.4GHz signal, your router can be up to 150ft in distance. To ensure best performance, it is recommended to have your myQ Video Keypad connected to a 2.4GHz network. If you're still having issues, please get in touch with us at support.chamberlaingroup.com

    The battery is garbage needs a hard wire

I contacted Chamberlain and was told it was because my router is to far away ( weak signal ) and I need to move the touch pad closer ??? Its about a whopping 35 feet away now from the router and I am not about to rewire and relocate Comcast's / xfinities router out to my garage when ALL my other devices work good including the garage door opener that is only 8 feet away from the touch pad.This came with the door opener which works great. I did offer to trade a standard pad for this one.

    My Q garage door camera

    We went out of town for five weeks and had someone watching our house periodically. The battery did not hold up through the time that we were gone and there was no way to maintain coverage for my home and garage. I believe something is needed to either have the batteries last longer or maybe add solar charger.

    Bought about a year ago. Worked great in the beginning, but then battery only lasted a day or two before it was offline. I was going out of state and did not have a lot of time to solve the issue. I decided to replace the battery and had it the next day! Hooked right up and was ready to go. In a day, after full charge, it was offline. That means the battery wasn’t holding the charge. Battery was brand new! I don’t know what is going on!

    I own two of these and the fact that I have to change the batteries so often is absolutly ridiculous. Dont get me wrong its a great idea but what engineer doesnt see past the fact that it needs power and maaaaaaybe build a solar module into the body of the keypad? Im thinking about going back to the 9v model

    Batteries only last a couple months. There should be a simple way to hardwire, but batteries is only option. Also, without a subscription, the video capabilities are worthless, so overall the video keypad is worthless.

    Chamberlain makes excellent garage door openers! They are affordable, dependable, and very easy to install. B-U-T...in their effort to make money at the expense of their customers: Chamberlain recently removed the ability to use a free APP called LIVE KEY to tie the MYQ App to the very popular SIRI voice control product. They've missed a great opportunity to dominate the market by allowing LIVE KEY to interact with SIRI since most of the world uses either SIRI or ALEXA. Instead, they left themselves (and their customers!!!) in the past by NOT ALLOWING this interface convenience which would have cost them NOTHING, and would have made their excellent products from the past several years migrate FREE and EASY into the current technological environment. Very, VERY poor management decision! So, instead of upgrading my old/reliable CHAMBERLAIN garage door opener with the inexpensive MYQ app and tying it into SIRI via the FREE LIVE KEY app, just like many of our friends and neighbors, we'll just move to a different company's product. Such a waste, shame, and STUPID move on Chamberlain's part.

    Nice hardware, poor connectivity story

    We already had a MyQ hub and garage door open/closed sensor, but the setup of this keypad never asked for a hub (which is in the garage, so even when the garage door is closed it should have pretty good connectivity). Instead, setup asked to connect to our WiFi network and set up direct control of the garage opener rather than using the MyQ hub - why..?? As a result we now have poor connectivity of the keypad, and the only help offered by the app is to check our WiFi router to make sure the keypad is connected via the 2.4 GHz band - the device should have chosen that band without me having to find a way to enforce that (I don't see a setting for that in the Google Home app that controls our WiFi mesh).

    Hello Sven, Mesh routers would not be recommended as they will disconnect from certain devices to give more stable connection to another in use. To ensure best connection with your myQ device, your router must be broadcasting a 2.4GHz network and should be from 50ft to 150ft in distance. Proceeding connection with a mesh router will continue disconnection/offline errors.     Battery life is very poor and I feel the swivel mount should have been included with the camera, I think the video quality is not great considering there are cheaper cameras on the market yet have much better video quality (2k) and still have all the features as the myQ keypad camera. I like having the keypad / camera as a combined unit but think there are many improvements that could be made the biggest one would be an option for external power adapter
