Summary of reviews

Nature's Own Butterbread has been a staple for many guests, praised for its soft texture and buttery taste, making it ideal for sandwiches and toast. However, recent changes in size, texture, and freshness have led to disappointment among loyal guests. The bread is now often described as dry, with a harder crust and smaller slices, prompting some to seek alternatives. Despite these concerns, the bread's flavor remains a highlight for some.

I used to buy this bread all the time. It was great. Best tasting bread around. But a couple years back or so they have had to change something or someway that the bread is produced. It feel soft to the touch in the grocery store when you gently squeeze the Loaf but when you get it home and pull some of the bread out it has a stale crust like feeling / texture to the bread even though it is soft to the squeeze touch. Please return to a previous procedure so that the bread does not have this dry crust like texture.

This bread was terrible. It was dry and stale even though it was prior to the expiration date. Went out to the birds.

I used to love this bread, only bread I ate, but then, it used to come not baked so long with a light white top. However now I have to scour the earth to come across such a batch because it is ALL dark and way too brown and the bread taste almost like it's stale! Trust me when I tell you the difference is night and day. If the bread looks dark and brown it is nothing compared to the ones that are light and those last forever and stay soft. I don't know why there can't be some consistency with the oven, you would think in today's world there is a way to cook the bread the same way, every single time. But NOPE! It's flip a coin

What happened to our Butter bread ? All of a sudden it is dry ,coarse and dark crust . Smells funny when I open the bag. I love the butter bread and last two weeks when I bought it has been toast dry . Very costly to not be good . It will usually stay fresh for three weeks .

Only bread I can find with no toxic seed oils (Canola, Soy, Cottonseed, Peanut, etc.). It would be nice if you expanded that to your hot dog and hamburger buns.

The past few loaves of bread I have bought are considerably smaller. My kids like their bread without crust so I bought one of those gadgets that you press down on the bread to remove the crust. In the past, the cutter would fit inside a slice. Now the slices are way smaller than the cutter. I really like the bread but I will be switching brands to a brand with a bigger loaf size.

We've been using this bread for a long time. Something has changed in the last few months. Every loaf is dried out when we open it. We always check the date on it, but they are dried out. Very disappointed, so we are changing to something else.

My Mom and I have been buying this bread for years with no issues. Nice soft bread and tatses good. In the last 6 months something has changed. The bread is full of air holes and falls apart when peanut butter dares to even look at it. We live in Southern Maryland, important because we have been in Charlottesville this week and bought some to see the difference. HUGE difference. Whatever bakery is here is doing it the right way. You may need to check on the PA and or NJ bakeries and find the screw up.

This used to be the only bread I would buy the crust was light and the bread was soft. Now the crust is dark brown, and hard, and the bread is not soft, I wish you would cut back on the bake time again, and I see others saying the same thing. Occasionally I can find a loaf that looks okay but I’m so disappointed!

I've been buying this bread for a long time and the quality and taste have changed - and not for the better. What a disappointment. The bread is harder and it's got holes in it. The taste is like it's close to molding. I just bought it today and it tastes awful. Also, there's no use by our sell by date on the package anywhere. There is no plastic tie with info on it either. Whatever cost cutting changes they have made are ruining the bread. Unfortunately, this will be my last purchase of natures own bread. Very disappointed

This used to be the only bread I bought, but I am now having to try others. The nature own butter bread seems to be overcooked most of the time, the top is dark brown instead of golden and it dries out before I can finish even half the loaf. This used to be the only bread I would buy, now I can hardly ever find a loaf that is not over-baked, Therefore having to try other breads
