Quoting from the movie, Clueless: “Tai: Do you think she’s pretty? Cher: No, she’s a full-on Monet. Tai: What’s a Monet? Cher: It’s like a painting, see? From far away, it’s okay, but up close it’s a big old mess.” On a serious note.. the material that makes up the cactus is the foam-type material that is at the bottom of the planter pot inside faux flower arrangements. I tried to move one of the “stems” and thought it snapped. (It didn’t though). There’s absolutely no way I could use this outside, which was my intention. I got in on sale, and had a $10 off giftcard , making it about $50. Yes, it is a faux cactus, however to me, it is unacceptable for the price, especially the non-sale price. Maybe it would be a good value at $25. Two stars: 1) It photographs nicely, I guess. 2) the planter has a good weight. Unsure if I’ll find a useful place for it indoors or just pack up the thing and take it back. Oh, and if ships in the actual box, my box had spots on it that looked like it was covered in mold. :/
