… it’s pretty loud. Was impressed upon opening the box. Everything was packaged well and all parts appeared sturdy and solid. Inclusion of both jelly roll and fine mesh screens for all 8 of the trays is a nice bonus. However, after washing everything and assembling for first use, we noticed that the first tray did not sit flush against the base which made all the trays wobble. Before revoking and returning though, I had a chat with Nesco customer service and they had an easy solution to the tray issue. Just wished they included something in directions because I read a number of reviews addressing the same thing; those reviews called it warping while I called it wobble.

This works great! It’s massive, you can buy more trays if you want (though it’s already massive and you don’t need to), and it does exactly what you need it to. You have various settings on the thermostat to choose from! Includes fruit roll up sheets, recipe book, sample jerky spice pack, clean a screen, etc. I highly recommend this product! I’m not sure why there are any negative reviews since this does exactly what it is supposed to! Love it!!!

Right out of the box I knew this would be returned. The outside of the trays were warped. I thought the outside of the dehydrator was wrapped in clear film, but it was actually the exterior coating pulling away. Very pricey for this plastic contraption.

Works well compared to our old one, from the 90s of similar design, and is top-rated by the Wirecutter (NY Times independent review site). Feels a bit pricey for what you get perhaps, but it's competitively priced with others like it. I have had none of the manufacturing or reliability problems others have so far, but will report back this fall if anything crops up after being run for several weeks.

I received 3 days early, that was great. Opened it up, turned it on, worked. An hour into drying my harvest it just quite. Light turns on but nothing else happens, no fan or heat. I will be returning to store for a full refund.

First of all, to give you some idea. I bought this dehyrdator THREE times over two months. The first time was a gift , and bought from HD- the trays were warped. I thought ok, let me try Target so that its not part of the same lot. The trays were not warped, however about 4 hrs in, the motor became louder and louder and sounded very unstable, to the point that it vibrated itself off my table. I thought, let me try one last time and order from HD. Third time was NOT a charm and the motor was loud after a few hours and as I was typing in my complaint directly to Nesco the motor completely lost it and there was the loudest banging sound coming from it that I was horrified and shut the whole thing off. The trays also never sat on the base properly. The first tray that sat on the tray would hover over it leaving a gap for the air to come out. The only way it would sit right was if all 8 trays were on it and the weight of the other 7 trays pushed the first tray down to meet the base. I can't understand how there are so many good reviews for it. I bought this thing three times, and none of them worked right. Made in the USA?!! What an embarrassment. And if you buy it from Target you can't get a refund back to a gift card if you buy with a gift card, you get a merchandise credit card which means I'm now limited to buying from the store and not online. Ridiculous.

Ok, so far this thing is 5 stars. I've dried all sorts of fruits and made jerky twice all in the first week of owning it. I appreciate the simplicity of it and the amount of drying space. I also appreciate the adjustable heating temps. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars as opposed to 5 is not for the product but for the way reviews are done these days. Target has sent me several emails reminding me to review the item, but I have only had it for a week! How could my review possibly be accurate and reliable after a week? My delivery was fast (that's more about the delivery company and not the dehydrator). I don't know, I like the color? The packaging was adequate? Haha it's just so ridiculous to review things a week after first using them. Anyway, the dehydrator seems just fine so far and works great the few times I've used it.
