A: Hi Dee, thank you for your question. The surface of the Aeroccino jug is made of fluoropolymers. Fluoropolymers are often used in processing equipment (e.g. bearings, roller dryers, baking ovens), because of their remarkable heat resistance and friction reducing properties. Health risks with fluoropolymers are associated with chemical decomposition, which occurs only when heated to temperatures above 240°C/ 464°F. The operating temperature of the Nespresso Aeroccino device is considerably below 240°C (~70°C/ 160°F). Therefore, there are no associated health risks with the non-stick Aeroccino surface. We require all our machine manufacturers to develop non-BPA materials where this could result in consumer exposure, and all our machine models are tested accordingly. Co-branded machines, for example the Miele Coffee System, which are compatible with in-home Nespresso capsules, may have parts that contain BPA. For further information on those machines, kindly contact the manufacturer directly. As part of our Quality Management System, Nespresso submits its products, packaging and processes to rigorous monitoring on a regular basis to ensure compliance with all standards. The results of those tests show that our machines are safe. They comply with all current regulation’s requirements concerning materials in contact with food. As another user stated, this frother will work for 5 seconds and then you get a malfunction light. This didn't happen for the first month or so but now it is every single time I use it. It does what its supposed to do on the 2nd or 3rd try, I'm sure there are better frothers out there.

I was gifted this frother for Christmas and it worked great along with my nespresso vertuo pop machine which still works perfectly. In February, the Aeroccino XL frother stopped frothing my milk as well and wouldn't froth anymore, it just makes my milk warm and runny. This never happened beforehand and always frothed perfectly, so I am very disappointed as it has only been two months. I've called Nespresso twice and didn't receive much help but finally received a new whisk after I asked to purchase one. The whisk was not the issue and my milk still froths terribly and runny. I wouldn't recommended purchasing this Aeroccino model, as the older Aeroccino model is probably better but at this point I'm not sure if that frother is the best choice either.
Quit working within three months.

This frother is the worst one I've had from Nespresso - it keeps failing every time we try to get the froth and sometimes it takes 5 or 6 tries to get one to to finish. It is extremely frustrating especially in the morning when we are short on time and rushing but. The button of the frother fails to recognize pressure applied when touched, therefore causing the instrument to malfunction. In the rare cases when the frother's tech system recognizes the touch, it will turn on for a brief moment- no longer than five seconds- and flash red lights continuously while producing a beeping noise; whereafter this ordeal it is close to impossible to prompt the frother in a working state again.

I received one that had been used and returned. I returned the item and decided not to re buy it. Target needs to make sure that they aren’t sending returns out to customers.

9 times out of 10 this milk frother only works for a few seconds before stopping and beeping the error code. I have to try 3 or 4 times before the frother will finally work and warm/froth the milk. I upgraded from the original aeroccino frother and sadly the original one worked way better

If you’re going to purchase a Nespresso milk frother, the Aeroccion XL is probably your best option, as it will allow catering to a wider Cappuccino/Latte audience, especially folks like me who like a little more frothed milk (for me, even this one is a little light on capacity). The Caveats 1. If you have been using a traditional stem wand frother (with success 😊 ), any of these types of devices will fall short. Using a traditional steam wand frother is better. 2. The device is very quiet, too quiet. Most of the time this is a good thing, however, the beeps it does emit when done has been mostly inaudible to me unless I am within a foot or so of the device. Why is this important? Well, if you do not pour the frothed milk within a few seconds of the end, it’s suboptimal. That said, I do think Nespresso has optimized their devices capacities to someone’s “perfect” blend. I admit, a few are really, good, though most of those had a bit more milk, at least for me.

I do not recommend this machine. Like other shave stated, it’s really finicky when it comes to amount of liquid. Even when I thought I got it perfect, it still blinks red and stops. When it works, it works well but doesn’t froth hot as someone else mentioned. I do like how quiet it is. All in all it’s been returned for the aeroccino 4 which is light years better for whatever reason.

Does what it’s supposed to I guess. Every time I start it for hot frothing, it stops and blinks red after 10 seconds. Then I don’t do anything other than press the button again, and it runs fine. Annoying bc I have to wait for the red light to go off until I can start it again. It’s not too full. I’m past the min line. It’s on the base correctly. No one can answer why it does this.

I am sorry to say, but this frother doesn't froth. I was warned by a friend, but still wanted to try. What you'll get is 1/4 cream and the rest 3/4 is just warm milk. I wish I could change it to the Aeroccino 4, that frother really froths, giving you a full creamed result!

Wanted the other frother but it was out of stock so I got this one instead. The red light goes off all the time and doesn't froth. I have to take it off the base put it back on sometimes more than once. I always make sure there is no water in the base or anything else. After 3 or 4 tries it finally works but I still don't feel it froths nicely.

Absolutely terrible!!! I got this as a gift and the top does not fit properly. It leaks all over the counter. The first time it happened it ruined my Alexa speaker that was on the counter as well. I have tried all levels of milk in there. It ALWAYS leaks. So disappointed.

I received this for my birthday 6 months ago. I’ve had it on average of about 3 times a week, so no more than 100 times. It already stopped working!

Thanks for your review. We’re dismayed that your Aeroccino XL stopped working to your satisfaction. As part of your machine use and maintenance we recommend wiping your device out with a damp sponge immediately after frothing milk. Once the milk residue is wiped away, rinse your device with cold water until it is cool to the touch. This cools the heating element down after each froth. We recommend following this process after each froth, as we do not recommend consecutive froths in a row without cooling it down. We also don’t recommend allowing frothed milk to sit in your device as this may cause the milk to scorch on the bottom. If your device issues persist after following our recommendations for use and maintenance, please call our toll-free number 800-562-1465 to troubleshoot with a machine expert to find a satisfactory resolution. Your device has a one-year warranty. If troubleshooting is unsuccessful, we have a replacement option, even when your device is out of warranty.

I love this thing. It’s so easy. I noticed once after washing my milk didn’t get as hot but I didn’t place the inside piece in the right place. Once I did it worked perfectly. It works best when not filled to max. It froths low fat milk well. I’m very happy

I bought the aeroccino xl 2 months ago and it no longer froths the milk I have tried and tried with fresh milk. It is not frothing I have carefully cleaned the wisk but still not working. Why is there no replacement wisk? I loved this product until it stopped working. Very disappointed
