Moldy, Unstable and Uneven Legs

Three main issues. 1. One of the table legs was moldy, thought I might be able to just clean it... but 2. Tables are very unstable, a gentle touch and the whole thing falls over. 3. The real kicker though was that the tall table came with two long legs and one short. Overall very disappointing.

I realize this is a $100 pair of tables and my expectations should be low—and they were, but what I pulled out of the packaging blew my mind. Most strange of all, the parts came out of the box feeling damp to the touch and smelling of wet soil or patchouli. Paint was literally coming off onto my fingers as I twisted the legs into the tops of the tables. On one of the legs, a chunk of paint had just altogether fallen off before I even got them out of the package, but I luckily had a black paint pen on hand to fix it. It was as if the item had gotten packaged up before the paint was done drying. I can think of no explanation for the strange smell but was able to get rid of it. I was able to make them work, but if I were a fussier person they would have gotten returned immediately.
