NETGEAR CM1100-100NAR Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem - Certified Refurbished

Barely getting 500mbps on a 1200 plan after testing two of this modems. Without modem tech has getting 998mbps

Using this with Comcast/Xfinity instead of renting a modem. We had DOCSIS 3.0 when I installed this modem and the install was fast and friendly. I connected it to the cable coax line and to our computer and the comcast activation page immediately appeared. After waiting five minutes for the comcast site to do its thing I was told to reboot and we were on line. Our neighborhood was upgraded to DOCSIS 3.1 and we were told to reboot our modem in an email from comcast. We had Gigabit service and consistent 940/40 speeds. Everything was great and then approximately four days later the modem would spontaneously reboot. Comcast dispatched a technician to our home and when I showed him the modem GUI page with the signal levels he verified the same with his own signal meter and installed an upstream signal attenuator at our ground block and we have been fine ever since. The comcast technician commented that the upgrade to DOCSIS 3.1 had changed the network signal level and that the modem was trying to compensate. He also told us that that this is one of the best modems deployed and that when he sees this modem he almost always rules it out as a problem when he is on a service call. We are happy with this modem and it has been trouble free for over a year.

This is on sale at my favorite club store, I like and had very good luck with Netgear products. I’m changing it to the next level up because Comcast’s certification is only up to 800 Mbps. I read some of the negative reviews, especially from a so-called “electrical engineer “ who couldn’t make it do what he wanted. A true electrical engineer would know that this modem is designed for locations with up to two IP addresses; it’s not a switch, it’s not a router. Basically, again, for businesses or homes which need or prefer to have two IP addresses. I had complained with Comcast because everyone from customer service to tech support didn’t know this as well. If you need an extra IP address, it may be difficult finding someone who understands. Otherwise, when you take the human defective thought out of the equation, it’s an awesome modem for homes with midrange internet speed requirements. Again, it’s the limits for comcast which made me upgrade to a faster modem.

Loses connectivity CONSTANTLY. IPS/Cox doesn't seem to help either. I hate this modem. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Netgear "support" is a joke!

Why are the links broken on the product page for the cm1100 modem for the user manual and the quickstart guide?

Worked as advertised, no surprises and was up and running in minutes.

Easy setup after contacting internet provider to give info for activation. Instructions were a little confusing since it tells you to disconnect existing modem

I can’t give more than 3 stars for now. I replaced a Cox modem/router with 1 Cox pod and now Sirius does not play thru my sound system reliably. It cuts out after a few minutes so I have to assume that the issue is with the Netgear modem and mesh system I bought.

I read the reviews and thought “this must be ok” but after setting it up I’m getting 6 times the speed and that’s over my provider max speed cap without paying for the upgrade.

More functions, more faster, and cover more bigger.

This model was very easy to setup, and instantly we received less buffering with our streaming activity.

Had to return it since it was impossible to set it up with the help from Netgear support

This is the best modem I have ever owned and purchase many over the years. Offers consistent uninterrupted multi-gigabit speed with encryption that keeps me safe with the reliability I need to stay connected in this covid season/ work from home environment.

now if only it could get the cable company to reduce their bill.

The modem has issues with RCN and had to be returned. They have been unable to work with Netgear to resolve updates making it not functional

I love this modem so far. We paired it with a Netgear Mesh system and it works great.

I wish I knew that you need two IP addresses to use both ports. I bought it so I can run two lines to two separate wifi routers
