Q: How long does the nintindo switch 2 battery last

submitted by Mom of 2 - 1 month ago
  • A: Hi Mom of 2, thanks for reaching out about Nintendo Switch 2 Console According to official Nintendo specifications and early user reports, the Nintendo Switch 2 has an estimated battery life of approximately 2 to 6.5 hours. There are a few things to keep in mind however, such as the more graphically demanding the game, the more it will drain the battery. Also settings like brightness, volume, etc. can all affect the battery life. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Awesome upgrade, but disapointing battery life

Albert - 3 days ago
I was thrilled to get this console on launch day, and I love the huge screen, and quality gameplay, but found a few issues. The battery life is poor, which I did not notice until I took the switch 2 on a trip. I was taking a 3 and a half hour flight, and I started playing Cyberpunk 2077. I played for about an hour, and my battery was at 34%. I was disappointed, as I had no way to charge it on the plane. So I switched to Mario Kart, and that drained the rest in 25 minutes. The battery life is not great for traveling. Another issue is some fast paced games (particularly Cyberpunk 2077 and Fast Fusion) would stutter and look horrendous during fast parts of the game. Now, you might be wondering why I am giving this a 5 star review. This is a really big upgrade from switch 1. Everything about the system is technically an upgrade, and I have a great time using this console. I will say- I love this console, and if Nintendo could just fix the battery...

Find it at a store near you within an hour drive and pick it up yourself. The last thing you need is anxiety about it getting lost in the mail or somebody stealing it or being damaged. It's worth the weight to make sure it's yours and secured and by the way... it doesn't come sealed by tape either so the box can easily be opened by anyone.

I recieved my Nintendo Switch 2 on June 8, 2025. Right now, it is June 25, 2025, and the poor craftsmanship of Nintendo just has left me speechless. While I was just sitting down, playing on my Switch 2, the left Joy-Stick completely shattered from me moving around the control stick to control a driver in Mario Kart. This item is $500 WITHOUT TAXES. Should the craftsmanship of an item that costs greater than the price of a TV not be at least somewhat durable? I have a Nintendo Switch from its release date in 2017, and it still functions better than my Nintendo Switch 2 ever has. Not to mention the screen protector from day 1 with multiple blemishes, immense lag on the console, half disfunctional "Y" button, and the faulty RAM of this thing. Now I have to either buy a new Switch 2 for another $500, or buy a pair of Joy-Cons for $95 and a screen protector for $10 still and have a console with terrible RAM that will probably completely break in less than one year. What is wrong with Nintendo these days? If I could give this item 0 stars, I would 100% do so.

Bigger screen. Looks good. Snappy. Buttons and console feels great in the hand. Thin and more confortable to hold than my rog Ally. Boring launch games. Mario world and donkey Kong (demo) are both boring. Good for backlog. Needs a faster more expensive micro sd. Can only play Nintendo games and their ports, I'd just get a portable pc for steam, wins in this case. I'd get a rog ally x. Way more flexibility. If you went full in on digital switch 1, this is good too. But I had my switch 1 stolen and bought a rog ally and didn't look back. Was curious about this but the games on steam both price and vastness trumps this by a long shot.

The Nintendo Switch 2 feels like the natural evolution of one of Nintendo’s most successful consoles. Building on the hybrid design that lets you seamlessly switch between handheld and docked play, this new model delivers what fans have long been hoping for: improved performance that doesn’t sacrifice the charm and versatility that made the original Switch iconic. ✅ Strengths: Significantly upgraded hardware: Higher resolution (up to 4K when docked, according to some reports), smoother frame rates, and HDR support breathe new life into both new and older titles. Games like Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe look sharper and more vibrant. Better build quality: More durable materials and refined controls (including improved Joy-Cons that combat drift) show that Nintendo has listened to fan feedback. Faster load times: Thanks to a modern chipset and SSD-like storage, load times are drastically reduced. Backward compatibility: You can still enjoy your existing Switch library while taking advantage of enhanced performance and visuals. ❌ Weaknesses: Price: The Switch 2 is more expensive than its predecessor, making it a steeper investment. Battery life: Although slightly improved, the stronger hardware still demands more power, so handheld battery life isn’t a huge leap forward. Limited launch lineup: As with many new systems, it would benefit from more exclusive titles at launch. 🎮 Final Thoughts The Nintendo Switch 2 doesn’t just refine the original formula — it elevates it. The hybrid design remains unmatched, and its performance upgrades finally enable it to meet modern third-party demands while preserving that unmistakable Nintendo magic. If you loved the Switch 1, this is an easy must-have.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a Nintendo Switch 2 from Target, excited to receive it as a gift — only to have that excitement completely ruined by both Target and their pathetic delivery partner, OnTrac. Two weeks passed and still no package. No updates. No explanation. Just silence. I reached out to Target customer service multiple times, and all I got was the same canned responses with no real help or urgency. Their reps clearly had no idea where my package was or how to actually resolve the issue. Completely useless. As for OnTrac — the absolute worst delivery service I’ve ever dealt with. No tracking updates. No customer support that’s reachable or responsive. It’s like my package entered a black hole. After endless back-and-forth and zero accountability from either company, I finally gave up and got a refund. But by then, the damage was done — the opportunity for the gift had passed, and I was left frustrated and disappointed. Target should be ashamed of partnering with such an incompetent carrier. And if this is how they handle missing high-ticket items like a Nintendo Switch, I can’t imagine what happens with anything else. Never ordering from Target again, especially if OnTrac is involved. Do better.
