[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my FS14i because the flexibility is great. I could do the step master or run without getting shin splints. I just need to make time to use it more
Good machine

First of all the build quality is awesome, machine is sturdy and I feel like it will last a long time. But for me, the free range of motion on the elliptical makes it feel awkward at times and cause me circulation issues in my feet if I don’t really focus in on my movements. For me personally I would prefer a traditional elliptical now that I’ve owned the freestrider for close to a year.
Great while it worked - it just wasn't very long

I was really satisfied with the item for a few months. After a few months of use - large bang - now the incline doesn't adjust and the machine rocks back violently at times almost throwing the user off. Called of course because it is under warranty - wanted a part number which of course is not readily visualized. Warranty is for parts, but will now only after a few months of ownership incur the cost of a tech visit. I am paying it because the unit was great when it was functioning, but unfortunate that this company has units failing after just a few months of use and then don't stand behind the product. When working good variety of workouts and allowed extended workouts with low impact. Hopefully it won't take too long to get this unit repaired and get back to my workouts.
Machine is great - iFit is problematic

The pros: the machine itself is very good. It arrived in good shape, was easy enough to assemble, and has held up very well in the two months that we have had it. We use it almost every day (especially if the weather is bad). So, very pleased with the machine itself. The cons: iFit has some connectivity problems that are very frustrating - especially since we upgraded to the machine with the larger screen in order to enjoy it more. When it works, iFit is excellent; but it is roughly 50/50 whether it will stay connected throughout. (And, just to anticipate, we have high-speed internet and the machine is located about 8 feet from the wifi.) In short, if you are considering buying this, do it for the machine itself (and maybe consider the one with the smaller screen to save money); but be very cautious about your expectations for iFit.

I am 54 years old and will have to say that this is the best piece of equipment that I have ever used because it is easy on the joints and the feet. I never thought I would use the iFit trainers but I actually love it. It isn't like you see on TV where they yell at you and cheer you on. I am in my 6th week of beginners running and I have run in Portugal and Morroco and learned so much from the trainer Tommy Rivs. He teaches you about the country and tells you what you are seeing and the history of it all. It makes time go by so fast. It is worth the cost.

Love the work outs but trying to figure out the differences in the motion of elliptical strides. Cadence feels a little restricted and when you try to get above 50+ cadence it rocks a little. Another thing I would like is higher incline - 10 is the max on this machine.

I'm sure it's a great machine but we've never figured out how to use it well. We purchased the elliptical because we had mobility issues and thought it would be better but it's so tall we can hardly get on it and while we thought we could use it like a treadmill it feels more like a stair stepper. I wish we had just gotten a much less expensive treadmill. :(

Gabriel We are sorry to hear that our FS14i machine didn’t meet your expectations. As advertised, this unit is designed to offer a 3-in-1 experience of a stepper, elliptical, and treadmill. We do understand that everyone has different preferences when it comes to working out. If you have any questions regarding this machine or any of our other products, you can contact us directly at (833) 680-4348. Thanks! - NordicTrack

As a 59 year old lifelong runner who loves to run outdoors on the trails I never thought I would say I enjoy stationary indoor exercise. But the FS14i combined with iFit has been quite enjoyable. I recently had major back surgery and this machine has been critical in my rehab. The design keeps me upright, there's zero impact on my joints, and I can maintain a stable core without twisting while going at a moderate intensity. The Trainers on iFit are entertaining and the locations are so interesting and beautiful an hour goes by in a snap. I like it so much that even when I return to the trails I will keep using the FS14i for cross training to preserve my joints for as long as possible.
Good equipment, but far too reliant on the over-priced iFit subscription.

The freestride feature allows you to change your walking/climbing gate fairly effortlessly, which I very much like. However, I am very disappointed by the lack of pre-programmed workout options outside of the rather expensive iFit subscription. I just want something basic that changes the elevation and resistance periodically. I prefer to watch TV while exercising, so the appeal of intricate iFit workouts is lost on me, and the only "manual workout" option requires 100% user intervention for all changes. Even a few basic options would be a welcomed addtion.
Great machine. Software a bit behind

The machine itself is brilliant. Supportive of my joints, allows me to exercise hard and safely. The IFIT “classes” are also great. The screen itself is a bit wonky, sometimes I have to restart it to see all of the numbers and sometimes it goes black.
Exactly what I was looking for…
