A wonderful kitchen composter!

I've had this crock for ~ 3 years now and absolutely love it. Yes, it's ceramic so you have to be careful (I've glued the lid back together after a fall) and the handle comes off (which actually helps with washing it) but it looks great sitting on the counter, has held up so well over the years, and works great with compostable bags for easy emptying. When it goes I will be getting another one for sure!
Ideal for kitchen scraps, used coffee grounds.

Ideal for kitchen scraps, used coffee grounds. Unfortunately, it is smaller than previous versions. Does not hold as much produce scraps.

I have an identical crock but was looking for one with a larger capacity. the description said it held a gallon but in fact, it's only two quarts. The description of the size is very misleading. Now I have two identical crocks. (It seemed like too much trouble to return). The product is fine, but the description is very misleading and it has not changed since I called to complain. I've always been happy with products I've gotten from Gardeners Supply before.
I would not buy.

The handle on this pot is not secure. Within a week of purchase I picked up the pot with the handle and the pot slipped out of the loops in the handle and broke. Disappointing design. Why have handle if it cannot be used?

We got this compost container a year and a half ago as a present. While it is nice looking and having a handle is nice, as soon as it is warm out it attracts fruit flies, probably because of the holes in the top that are supposed to aerate it. I have also manage to chip it a couple of times. Ready to move on to another container with no aeration holes that is not ceramic.
Poorly designed

Had previously ordered a compost pail that looked exactly like this. Loved it but it got broken. Ordered a new one and was disappointed to find the new one is quite a bit smaller and does not have a smooth top edge like the old one did. The top edge is so rough it rips the compost bag when you try to remove it, dumping coffee grounds, etc. all over the place. I gave up on the bags but dislike the way the compost scraps get caught in that edge.
I would buy this product again

The container sits on the drainboard and is easy to add compostables. The handle makes it easy to take out and add the contents to the larger compost bin.
I would definitely recommend and buy again

Wonderful compost collector. It fits well in any décor and eliminates all the odor for an open compost bucket. Great product. This is my second one and would definitely buy again.

We bought the black crock. It is very attractive and matches our kitchen decor very well. Much more convenient than an old ice cream bucket.

I ordered the crock in red and it goes perfect in my kitchen. I just wish it was a little larger to accommodate the compost bags (they hang over the edge quite a bit)! The filter works great to control odors.
I will not purchase this item ever again.

I ordered this item with a fair amount of research ...but I wish it was easily returnable. (please note that it may be?) It doesn't hold a candle to our first compost crockpot. It is odiferous and flies are attracted immediately. This was not the case with our original. We had no idea what was going on inside that crock!

The crock is very handy to have sitting on the counter next to the sink to collect food waste. It looks nice too. I use the crock filters and compost bags to keep it clean and odor free. This system is much better than putting food waste in the trash that sits there and gets smelly.

Crock is of good quality, lid fits well and the design not only holds a lot of material, but also empties easily. No contours or edges that hold back anything while being emptied.

I bought this to replace my small plastic compost bucket. It is much prettier. I like the filter in the lid. I wish that it was a bit larger.
