This is called "dusting" your rug. Use your vacuum's floor setting - be sure the floor setting for your vacuum can be used without the beater bar. The beater bar, even while disabled, should not make contact with the rug. Do not use a floor setting attachment that does not have a wheeled, gliding function. Do not use any attachment that drags over a loop pile or flat weave, as this will cause fraying. Some rugs may be too light-weight for even your lightest vacuum setting; you may dust your rug in place of vacuuming by shaking your rug out to release dust and debris. Clean spills immediately. Blot liquids with a dry absorbent white cloth or white paper towel. Regular vacuuming and the occasional gentle shake should keep your rug in ship-shape condition. Please do not machine wash, bleach or tumble dry. Professional rug cleaning recommended.
