I have been eating Spirulina for 40 years. I got started with it because I was connected to a company that was one of the first to raise it in the United States. I believe it is one of the healthiest foods you can eat. It has been eaten for centuries by ancient civilizations. Ten years ago a friend of mine introduced me to Nutrex Hawaiian Spirulina letting me know it is one of the best you can get. I mix it with tart cherry juice. I personally like the flavor.

I have used many brands of spirulina over the years but the Pure Hawaiian product seems to positively enhance one's energy and well being. The pleasant taste is another positive.

I have only taken this Hawaiian spirulina for the past 10 days after waiting 8 months for Swanson to get it into stock. I have taken Asian spirulina on and off for many years but I feel that because of my present energy level in during the last 5 days, this pricey product may be the best that I have ever used and living up to it's reputation.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box,is that the jar is larger than I expected. The second thing I noticed,is that it's a nice glass jar. This Spirulina has no smell and,to me, no real discernible taste. It is slightly salty,but then I suppose that's to be expected. It has a slight after taste like after you eat a lot of sunflower seeds.

I like taking the spirulia, I'm vegan and I like the idea that it has protein.

I feel good about the quality and safety of this spirulina because it is grown in Hawaii, not India like some others. It also tastes much better than some other brands. It has a sort of seaweedy taste that most people can't tolerate, but if you like fish, seafood, and seaweed, you might like the taste. I eat it by the spoonful rather than putting it in a drink and ruining the taste of the drink -- just be careful not to accidentally inhale and choke on the powder. A 1/4 tsp. or so is also a great substitute for green food coloring in mint smoothies or anything mint flavored.

I have been taking spirulina in one form or another for over a decade. I bought this brand exclusively for the majority of that time. Great energy booster and I had a feeling of overall well being while using it. I believe there are more than one kind of Spirulina and the pacifica seems to work best for us. I went to a cheaper pill form for a short time just being a cheapskate. Big mistake. No energy or feeling great from those if you can get enough down to matter. I bought another bottle of this and the first day taking it I felt wonderful again. I learned my lesson and will never stop getting this one again. Kudos to Swanson for getting us the best prices but that alone wouldn't keep me coming back...customer service matters and has made me continue to shop here bi weekly!

This spirulina seems to make me feel great all day. It provides energy that lasts. A natural way to get your vitamins! Mix with a beverage (not a plain bev) and you can't taste it. I'd avoid a plain bev, like milk, b/c then you can taste the product. Anything else is mixes nicely.

I put a teaspoon of this in my green drink smoothie every day. I can tell the difference in my overall well-being when I don't take it. The micro-nutrients are amazing. The price is better at Swanson's than anywhere else too.

I've tried so many different spirulinas over the years and researched organic vs natural and still don't know what to think. But I like the idea it is grown in Hawaii, does that count? It tastes very good. It is a really good price. I've bought it three times so far, I take some every day and it is the brand i'm now sticking with.
