  • A: The wheels are held into the base by a compression sleeve on the caster. This causes the wheels to be very hard to install fully into the base. I had to use a rubber mallet to tap them in.

Summary of reviews

This chair offers easy assembly and a comfortable fit for smaller users, making it a suitable choice for home office setups. However, many guests have expressed concerns about its durability and quality, particularly regarding the hydraulic mechanism and seat cushioning. While it may serve well for light use, guests recommend considering long-term comfort and sturdiness before purchasing, especially for heavier individuals.

This chair is an absolute travesty. Got it for my in home office and the hydraulic would not work to adjust the height of the chair. . Horribly uncomfortable and the wheels did not want to roll. This is definitely not worth the money spent. It was returned to Target.

TargetShopper - 1 month ago, Verified purchaser
In February 2025 I purchased this chair. The chair was replacing the same model chair I bought from Target several years ago. I liked the chair enough to buy it again. What was shocking is that the chair shrunk! After I assembled the new chair and sat in it I could immediately tell it was smaller. I was shocked! I measured both the old Target chair and the new Target chair and I was correct, the dimensions of the new chair are a slight bit smaller and enough to notice. I realize it is common for a business to cut back on materials or product to save money but this was a first. I am not a large person and noticed the smaller size immediately so I can only imagine that a larger person may find the chair to be more cramped. I like the chair and will keep it but would have preferred for it to be the original size that it was several years ago.

Easy to assemble, but I don’t thing is worth 75 dollars. Materials feel really cheap! The handles and the base feel like they’re going to break. I think it works fine, but I don’t think is worth 75 dollars. I wouldn’t have bought it if I saw it in person before ordering online lol I’ll give it 2 stars because it actually works fine but I feel like I got scammed. I’ll make another review after a year of use.

Had this chair before and woke up today with it unable to go back up for no reason. I bought a second one today and it’s painfully stiff compared to the one I used to have and very small. If you’re over 180lb your thighs will likely be hitting the arm rests. Wish I didn’t buy it again but works in a pinch

I don't recommend this chair because in less than a year, the chair started slowly descending down. It's annoying. I have to keep raising it back up, and slowly down I go back down. Lol (I do meet the weight requirements of the chair. 😏) If it wasn't for this issue, I'd give the chair 5 stars.

    Assembly Overview

    4 out of 5 stars
    Thumbs up graphic, would recommend
    ExperiencedQA - 11 months ago
This review is a quick overview of this chair assembly. Make sure to follow the instructions included with your product. I'll include tips to make this assembly easier. For starters, go to PART LIST of your instructions. Using a pen or pencil, find each part on this part list and put a checkmark next to each item as you find them. This will help verify that you have everything you need before getting started. Next tip is during each step, hand start each required screw before tightening them the rest of the way. When fastening lever plate (G) to the underside of the bottom cusion (B), both of these items have "front" labeled on them. Match the front to front of each item before assembling. The arm rests will have their flat sides against the cushions. Hand start each screw on the left and right side of the seat before tightening them all the way. It is doable, but I found difficult aligning the arm rests to the holes in the back cusion. The weight capacity of this correctly assembled chair is listed at 225lbs / 102kg. The interior distance between the arm rests near the back support is measuring 18" , while the interior distance between the front of the arm rests measures 18.25"

The seat cushion began to flatten within a month. (I’m 180 pounds.) The hydraulic started giving out after three months. It sinks on its own overnight or sinks when I first sit down in the morning. At five months something broke and it started tilting to the right. Now it’s unusable. This was a waste of money that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Don’t buy it.

This chair is genuinely bad, I love buying things from target but this is the worst thing I’ve ever gotten over the past three years. The seat is small so unless you’re a child or just really petite than the seat will be uncomfortable. It doesn’t recline but does lean forward just a little but not in a comfortable way. The back half is too large and you have to force it over the bottom half just to screw it into place and the instructions are awful. Bad step by step follow through. Best to get something at IKEA

I have had this chair for only 2 months, I weigh less than 200 pounds and the hydraulic cylinder is already sinking on it's own. For $85 this is kind of ridiculous. Source better parts! This thing breaking in two months feels intentional. Planned obsolescence and all that. Condiering returning the entire thing and trying to find a used herman miller somewhere. The only other option is to buy an aftermarket hydraulic cylinder... this seems ridiculous though. The chair was $85 frickin dollars. The hydraulic cylinder should be good to go for YEARS not months.

Love the width, depth and height of the chair. Im 5’7”, 150lbs. This chair is the perfect size. I’ve had it for 16 months and the padding in the seat is starting to flatten out. Only use this chair an hour a day average. Hoped for it to last longer than this but for the price that’s prob to be expected :(

This chair is uncomfortable to me. I purchased it today 01/25/24. I am an average sized person around 140 lbs. I can feel the frame/ board under the cushion when I sit down. The foam in the back of the chair is very dense/ firm I does not mold to the body at all. It felt like I was leaning against a wall all day. If you are someone that likes firm cushions then you might like this chair. I find it to be uncomfortable. I will be returning it on my day off.
