About the Book

In an alternate take on the classic fairy tale, the prince falls asleep and Aurora must escape the magical world created in her own dreams.

Book Synopsis

The 2nd installment in the New York Times best-selling A TWISTED TALE series asks: What if the sleeping beauty never woke up?

It should be simple--a dragon defeated, a slumbering princess in a castle, a prince poised to wake her. But when the prince falls asleep as his lips touch the fair maiden's, it is clear that this fairy tale is far from over.
With a desperate fairy's last curse controlling her mind, Princess Aurora must escape from a different castle of thorns and navigate a dangerously magical landscape--created from her very own dreams. Aurora isn't alone--a charming prince is eager to join her quest, and old friends offer their help. But as Maleficent's agents follow her every move, Aurora struggles to discover who her true allies are and, moreover, who she truly is. Time is running out. Will the sleeping beauty be able to wake herself up?

About the Author

After the sort of introverted childhood you would expect from a writer, Liz earned a degree in Egyptology at Brown University and then promptly spent the next ten years producing video games. Finally she caved into fate and wrote Snow and Rx under the name Tracy Lynn, followed by The Nine Lives of Chloe King series under her real name, because by then the assassins hunting her were all dead. She also wrote A Whole New World, the first book in the new A Twisted Tale series. She lives in Brooklyn with a husband, two children, a cat, a part-time dog, three fish and five coffee trees she insists will start producing beans any day. A Sisters review. For parents looking for a good book for their kids, this is not it. Maybe it’s due to being in the medical field and seeing this stuff, that it bothered me, nonetheless, kids shouldn’t read this stuff. Do what you want with this information, but figured parents should have a good heads up on what their child is going to read. Bought this for my 16 yr old sister, not something you’d expect to read in a Disney book. Here’s two parts from the book, within 20 pages of each other. (Excuse the lack of punctuation, I was attempting to just type it out without having to really read it again). This should not be in a book for kids. This is word for word from the book, again sorry about the punctuation. As she rounded the corner she saw one of makeficents servants nosing around the corner. Off duty? Did they ever go off duty? It was on its knees and hands snuffling in the midden like an animal. Aurora turned her head when it found a length of entrails and worried it out of a pile and stretched it until the tube of flesh snapped. Page 78 The Queen reached deep into her cloaks. she pulled out a strange ripple-bladed black stone dagger that looked sharp and awkward. before aurora could guess what it was for, maleficent was linger it deep into the Astrids chest. the moment seemed unending; the queen had to juggle it back and forth to get all of its sinuous bends into the woman’s flesh. Astrid screamed, or, tried to, the muffled cries surrounding wet and useless behind her gag. The guards holding her whistled and hooted with glee. With determined set of her jaw, maleficent wrenched the dagger out. A fountain of blood streamed from the poor woman’s chest— too purely, too neatly to seem possible considering the jagged imprecision of the wound. Pages 95-96
