About this item

Description

Book Synopsis

Make a time capsule of your year with watercolor

One Color a Day is a simple and meditative way to visually document each day. Within the book's orderly gridded layout, you simply paint a daily color and add a word or phrase that reflects your current mood, an observation, or an experience. The result is a visually stunning, deeply personal, and totally unique record of a year. One Color a Day begins with an encouraging note to all aspiring creatives, explaining the many benefits of the practice along with a little technical advice about painting with watercolor. Interspersed throughout are spreads with inspiring ideas for choosing your daily color and using it as an opportunity to set an intention or to reflect on the different aspects of your life.

poor quality paper, NOT WORTH IT!

1 out of 5 stars

One Color A Day is an interesting and fun concept that is meant foster creative habits and play with watercolor, but the paper is NOT suitable for watercolor. Immediately after coming into contact with water, the page starts pilling resulting in ugly dark spots. The pages also warp, meaning that your color pools in places you don’t want it to. I’ve resorted to painting on cheap index cards, and don’t have the pilling issue. See my photos and compare for yourself the quality of the finish color on a $0.99 pack of index cards versus this $15+ book supposedly meant for watercolor. Even though has helped me get into the habit of painting every day, I’d say it’s NOT worth the money. You COULD use another medium to avoid the water issues, but entire point of the book is to practice using watercolor. So, I would steer clear.
