Q: What size Big Wheels should be purchased for a child who is 42" tall?

A: Hello, The 16" Big Wheel should work based on the manufacturers age recommendation of suggested age 3-8 years old. Average height charts for children place a 42" child as age 5 (for girls) and age 4-5 (for boys). If your child falls within these age/height categories the 16" Big Wheel should work. Q: How do I remove the front pedals from the axle if the caps are already on? Your directions said in step two to attach the pedals. In step three it then says to put the axle through the front wheel. With the pedals already attached it is impossible.

The back wheels were a nightmare to put together. The little caps for both ends of the axle are very tricky to get on. We hammered away until the end of the axle rod itself became misshapen and we had to file around the edges of it, but the cap still did not go on. The plastic tool that is provided for this task is useless. Our old Big Wheel (a Ninja Turtles one) broke when these little caps came off the back wheels and we couldn’t fix it, so I was hoping this one (being the original Big Wheel) wouldn’t use the same exact mechanism but I was wrong. Hope this one holds up!
No Holes for Axel to Pass Through

I was very excited when this arrived for my son birthday tomorrow but there are NO HOLES for the axel to pass through. There was one small hole on one side but much too small for the axel to pass and the other side no hole. Very disappointed in the quality control to allow this to pass.

Big Wheels have brakes, that's the point. That's what I wanted!

The whole point of this toy is to go fast and pull the brakes to spin out. Without the brakes it's just a tri-cycle. I feel cheated for my grandson. Are brake kits available? The parts are shown on the instructions.

Disappointed with instructions and setup. Wheels and body did not have holes pre-drilled. Bike did not fit together easily seemed to be a reject.

We ordered it online. When we opened it to put it together, there were 2 parts missing. It was a birthday gift for my child & we couldn't put it together so she'd have it on her birthday.
