This broccoli was not firm. I had to split cold water to firm it up, and it tasted awful.

After washing and cutting the broccoli I noticed it was covered in bugs. Small grey bugs that I believe to be aphids. Had to throw away the entire thing and the cutting board.

This broccoli was covered in bugs and I almost didn’t notice. I cut up nearly the entire head of broccoli before spotting little grey bugs. I’m horrified. I guess this may be common for organic broccoli but I’ve never seen bugs on it before. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever eat it again after this omg.

The broccoli was going to rot within a couple days after purchasing. It was hard to tell it was that far gone. Used it for homemade alfredo sauce.

Bug INFESTED! I’ve bought organic food time and time again (well…. not from Target) and never had this many bugs. I even soaked it in a vinegar/salt solution to remove some. You would literally have to scrub it with a toothbrush to get out all the tiny bugs. Disgusting. Never again. Went in the trash!

The quality of the broccoli seemed good, but it was so full of bugs we ended up deciding to throw it away. I had rinsed the broccoli and then soaked the florets for a few minutes. That’s when I noticed dozens of little black gnat-like bugs floating in the water. I repeated this step a couple times hoping that would take care of most of them, but when I boiled a few florets to give to my baby, there were dozens more bugs floating in the boiled water so we ultimately decided to throw it away. I realize plants, especially organic ones, may harbor some bugs and won’t hurt us to inevitably eat a few, but there were so many in this broccoli that it became pretty off-putting.
