USB cover broke right off when simply opening it to charge phone. For a very expensive phone case this is unacceptable.

Hello! We apologize that you have experienced an issue with the charge port cover. This is not typical of the case, and we have an amazing warranty. We are most happy to get you a brand new case via warranty replacement. We’re sorry to hear about your damaged device. Our cases are very protective, but some variables can’t be predicted. We’re happy to send a new OtterBox product under our product warranty, but we are unable to extend our warranty to the device itself, as we are not the manufacturer. Please give us a call at 1-855-688-7269 with any questions or if you’d like a new case.

Let me first start of and say, I work an office job so things don't get too sporty in the office for my Otter Box case to continue to stretch at the corners!!! I am on case number 3 in less than 2 years due to the stretching at the corners! They all have had the same problem and my current case already needs replacing due to the same problem. I had one on my Google Pixel 3 for 4 years and never had to replace my case, You may want to steer clear if you own a Pixel 6.

The only thing that is good about this case is the "free" replacements. The otter soft shell stretches way to easily and doesn't sit where it is supposed to. In less than a year of owning my phone I will have put THREE of these cases on it. The failure is always in the same place at the top corners and around the camera. Makes me hate the brand altogether since this has always been a problem with all their phone cases and they have refused to address it, whether through a redesign or other means.

We're sorry to hear you've had such recurring struggles with the outer slipcover of the Defender Series case. This type of stretching wasn't anything that caused us concern during our internal testing, so we're curious if there is anything consistent about when this seems to occur during your use of the case. Have you found it necessary to continually remove the case and then reinstall your device for any reason, or does it just begin to lose its shape while it has remained in place? We'd love to learn more and see what might be done to help cinch things down once and for all. Just give our friendly Otters a call at 1-855-688-7269, and we'll go from there. Kindly, OtterBox Customer Support

Great case. I drop my phone often and never had any damage with this case. The hard rubber trim also prevents the phone from falling out of my pocket.

You're certainly not wrong to expect your Otter/Pixel combo to stay properly secure inside that Defender Series holster and we're sorry you've had such an unnerving experience. Not quite sure what would have caused this type of issue, but we're confident that a brand-new warranty replacement will dial everything in as intended. Just ping our handy Otters through the following link or at 1-855-688-7269 and we'll be glad to help cinch this all down in a hurry! https://www.otterbox.com/en-us/warranty-begin Best, OtterBox Customer Service Team

Did otterbox change it's manufacturing? I see I'm not the only person complaining about the external soft skin sagging. I've never had this problem this badly with any other otterbox case (and I've been buying for the last 6+ years). In fact, the flap that covers the charging port just completely snapped off today! It's been 8 months. Any previous otterbox I've had case lasted for at least 2 years.

Uh oh! That's definitely unexpected of an OtterBox. We're very sorry to hear your case isn't staying snug to your device and the ports have been exposed. Fortunately, we have our awesome warranty in place for situations just like this. I've been using OtterBox cases exclusively since 2008 when I finally got a smart phone and normally I keep a single case until I get a new phone. This Defender Pro Case is a real let down. I typically take very good care of my phones and don't often **need** cases, with the exception of a random drop from pocket height here or there, so their Commuter (or whatever equivalent name they call it that generation) has been more than enough for me. I work from home and rarely leave the house in general, so it's not like the phone/case are being abused in any way. When I upgraded to the Pixel 6, the only option available without waiting for it, was the Defender Pro Case. After only 6mo months the corners started pulling away and after 9mo (total time that I've had the phone/case) the edges are sagging/puffing out on many of the flat sides and around the camera opening. If this continues, in another 3mo or so, the rubber skin likely won't hold onto the phone and I'll be left with just the hard inner shell and be forced to purchase a 2nd case in under a year when all previous cases served me flawlessly for 3+ years.

Thanks for the heads-up on the struggles you're having with that stretched outer slipcover of the Defender Series Pro case. You're not wrong to expect the piece to retain a secure fit around the inner shell, and we're sorry things haven't gone as either of us expected. But no need to go out and buy a new case, as we've got a great warranty that will help cinch things down with a brand-new replacement! You can set things in motion with the link below, or feel free to give us a call at 1-855-688-7269 and we'll be glad to help! Cheers, OtterBox Customer Service Team
Holster makes no sense

John - 3 years ago

The case itself seems great, but the holster doesn't make any sense. If you sold a separate holster with a cutout for the camera I would buy it. Especially if you went into detail as to why the holster design is the way it is. The clip/stand/handle has potential but the holster works better with left handed use than right handed. If you use it right handed you either cannot take your phone out one handed or it will be upside down. It's hard to accurately explain why and how annoying it is to use right handed. Left handed it works exactly as you would expect it to... A two handed draw is much safer in general so this is somewhat excusable, but incredibly puzzling. The other oddity is that the belt clip acting as a handle cannot be used when taking pictures. A simple cutout would make a huge difference in protecting the phone during usage and making the holster feel like bundled value instead of odd junk. I need a secondary grip (popsocket thing) to take pictures and properly use a phone this large Having a secondary grip attached to the phone itself might also alleviate how difficult the holster is for right-handed operation. I don't understand the desire to add incomplete functionality to a clip that is also a grip but doesn't work when you really need a grip, and it's nearly deceptive to market a feature like this when it isn't compatible with what most users would want it for This could have been avoided if Otterbox took the time to include information on how they expected you to use the holster. If the majority of the userbase prefers a crossdraw or a putting their phone on their left side then you should inform your customers beforehand why these decisions were made. Even if the reason was just because that's what works best with the buttons, at least we would know. Without this most customers would assume you're going to prioritize the majority of the population who are right-handed. If you think the clip-grip on the holster is great for general usage but cannot be used for taking pictures AND if you want to add another grip to alleviate this you would only ever be able to put your phone in the holster facing inwards... this is need to know info.
Great product as usual, but....

As always, the Otterbox is a great product, it has saved more than one of my phones, but...this one seems like it is built backwards. What I mean is, when you reach down with your right hand, to remove a right side mounted phone, and raise it up to look at the screen, it is upside down. This is the only Otterbox, out of 6 I have owned, that has been like this. I know this sounds strange, but I typically reach down and release my phone with one hand and answer a call. This model requires me to reverse the phone. For the first few days I owned it, I couldn't figure out why the phone wouldnt stay in the belt clip. It was because I was putting it in upside down. If I were left handed, this would work just fine. I have flipped it around several different ways, and unless I am missing something obvious, it is just not intuitive to me. I will still be using it, but this is something I would like to see changed, or made so it can be flipped over. This also assumes the release latch should be UP when wearing the belt clip. When it is down, even the car seat belt releases the phone.

Hi there! We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with your Defender Series Pro! Due to the placement of the button on your device, the latch for the holster was not able to be centered on the device. We'll be sure to get your feedback passed along to our design team. If you run into any other issues with your case, feel free to call us at 1-855-688-7269, and we can get you taken care of. Best, OtterBox Customer Service Team

This product was an easy setup for my elderly relative's new phone. It fit on great, and has a solid, sturdy form factor. The only hang up they had was figuring out what to do first, but a quick YouTube video made it child's play. My only advice for the staff would be to have an obvious installation video link in the directions sent. Like all other Otterbox cases, I know this one will last a long time! This model specifically works with the camera bump so that the phone sits flat on the table.

You only made it half way to perfect. The design for the case is excellent, the holster is not even close to perfect. I have had the phone fall out several times and I have only had it about a month. I did send a note to OtterBox about the design issue but received no reply other than the standard one of we can replace the holster. That clearly would not fix the issue. Also, if you snap the phone into the holster the wrong way, the snap is pushing against the phone volume buttons.
1 reply from Customer Service Team team - 3 years ago
Hi 1MRF, Yikes! We're sorry to hear about the holster. If you have your phone screen facing in on the holster you may want to try reversing it or vice-versa. This can help secure your device into the belt clip. Additionally, we can try to help with a new belt clip that will help tighten things up. Call us at 1-855-688-7269 if you'd like a replacement or to discuss this further. Cheers, OtterBox Customer Service Team

Thank you Otterbox for making this a screenless case!!! The plastic protective screen is normally the first thing I remove any time I get a new Otterbox case, and end up spending hours with rubbing alcohol and goo gone trying to remove the adhesive. Otherwise the case is great, fits my Pixel 6 very well, I already accidentally dropped it from ear height and it was completely unscathed. Feels very durable.
