This product is far too fragile to be useful as a phone case. After a few drops(chest height), the case has broken in 6 different places, and the phone can now fall freely out of the case. The problem is that the material of the hard shell is too small and thin for the size of the case. This is causing too many weak spots. This was likely done to make the phone easier to hold, but the "Defender" case has always been a no compromise model. Extremely disappointed and will never buy another otterbox again.

I've used the Defender series for all of my phones since it came out. After several years when it's time for a new phone, they come out looking just like they went in. Never had a broken phone. I usually keep my phones an average of 4 years. If I had any complaints, it would be the belt clips, which I'll break about 1 a year. I can be a crash test dummy at times...

So far so good but I really wanted a LifeProof case. Did OtterBox buyout LifeProof? If so why buy the company then not have their cases available? Either way after purchasing a symmetry case to replace my 2 year old LifeProof case I dropped my phone 3 days later and 3/4 of the screen went out. So I went ahead and upgraded to the s23 ultra and was sad to have to get the OtterBox defender case then even more sad about the color selection. The case itself seems to be doing well but I prefer the hard plastic 2 piece case with rubber edges of the LifeProof case.

I have been using the OtterBox Defender Series case for a very long time now through various iterations of phones it is the end of the line for OtterBox and me I had a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with an OtterBox Defender case on it and took it apart to clean the phone and the inside of the case and the back of the phone was cracked and I had never dropped that phone well now I have a Galaxy s23 Ultra and I took the OtterBox Defender case off of the phone to clean it and the sides of the phone look like they've been through a rock tumbler the sides of the phone are all scratched to pieces for the price of the phone case and what I have experienced I would not recommend OtterBox anymore I'm sure other people have better experiences than I do or similar

Our cases aren't made with anything that would inherently wear away the finish of one's device, so we're wondering if some type of debris was somehow stuck between the case and your device. We're constantly working to improve our cases with each new release, so we appreciate this feedback. With that said, while we design our cases to minimize the risk of damage, there are variables that can influence the outcome of any drop or fall that we're unable to prevent. We can't extend our warranty to the device itself, as we aren't the manufacturer. We'd be more than happy to help with a brand new case though. I absolutely love rhis case. It is not bulky yet very sturdy. I bought a case elsewhere prior to this one and i hated it. I would highly recommend this case to others! I also love the way it snaps together around your phone. It is very secure!!

Love the durability. The only complaint i have is that overtime, the piece that you constantly need to flip up, to charge your phone via wire, gets worn out and breaks off. Can't remember how long my last one for the Note 10+5G took to wear off, but it's the same structure as this case. I do like the better variety of colors with this case. I hope they continue making this case for future models as well as a variety of color combinations. I had gotten the Samsung exclusive color lime, so i do wish that there would have been a lime or neon green case available.

The lower left corner of case is hard and irritates hand . It is also not always easy to put in belt clip? Have hade many other otter box products over the years and they were great. This one seames like design is not up too pare.
