Q: For super dark brown hair, how does the color show? Also how long does the scarlet red take to fade?
A: Hello Lyss, When it comes to darker hair, we recommend leaving the product on for 20-30 minutes. This will allow for better color results. Most clients find that a single use lasts about as long as a semi-permanent color would as oVertone is not meant to be temporary. The color typically lasts up to 2 weeks. Your color will fade out as you stop using oVertone. Fade out time and color depends on your hair, starting color, wash routine, and more.

Q: How long does it last? I just want to see what the color looks like on my hair.
A: Hi Bianca, Our conditioners vary in intensity and how long they last can vary from one client to another due to many factors such as product used, cuticle health, porosity, and texture. Many clients will see our lighter, Pastel conditioners wash away within a few shampoos, other products like our intensely pigmented may take up to 4 weeks (or more) to fade with shampooing alone. If the color needs to be removed, you'll want to use a Direct Pigment/Dye remover prior to attempt to "bleach the color out." Direct Dye Removers are specifically designed to remove the pigments that are deposited by semi-permanent, deposit only coloring products. Applying bleach directly to hair that has been colored with any brands semi-permanent pigments or using a "regular" (oxidative) dye remover, may result in the color driving further past the cuticle, into the shaft and staining the hair permanently. This result will require "resting periods" between bleaching and regular toning application. We hope this helps.

Q: Why does the new formulation burn? Is it too many essential oils or some chemical? The new formula is thinner, smells, and burns my head even though I haven't bleached my hair first.
A: Hi Yuyu, Thank you for your feedback! The tingling sensation you’re experiencing is due to the Peppermint and Spearmint Oils in our formula. These natural ingredients are known for their invigorating and stimulating properties, which can help to balance and revitalize the scalp. Many of our customers enjoy this refreshing sensation as a sign that the product is actively working to support hair and scalp health.
