Q: Will the material hold up in hot oil such as while making French toast?

A: Thanks for your question! Our Silicone Flexible Turners are heat resistant up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit and should withstand hot oil. However, it is best to rest the turner on the counter or a tool rest when not in use. I hope this helps!

I bought this spatula in July 2024, and less than a year later it's falling apart. The silicone is disintigrating and peeling off (see photo), so obviously I cannot cook with it anymore. I normally love OXO products and I have never had this issue before. This product was 5 stars while it lasted, but I expect it to last longer than 10 months, so I can only give it 3 stars. Super unfortunate.

Great spatula (I have both sizes) except for the handle not being silicone. My teens have left the spatula in the pan after cooking and the back of the handle melts where it touches the pan. It’s a bummer.

This spatula is just flexible enough to flip things but not so flimsy that it disintegrates. Other spatulas that I've had for non-stick cookware would warp or the edges would melt. I think this one will last a lot longer.

Received the product and used it once. While resting the handle on the edge of the pan to grab some onion to toss in, the handle melted. While the actual turner is silicone, the handle is not. This should be clearly outlined on the packaging, but it isn’t. They could have also just made handle from silicone, but it seems like a cost cutting measure that affects the overall quality of the product.

The handle is NOT heat proof. If you’re cooking something on the stove, and leave the turner on a hot pan for a few seconds, the handle starts to melt. You need to set it on a spoon rest.

I had liked it till the silicone broke. It's barely over a year old so that's pretty disappointing. It doesn't get used a lot, probably a few times a month so I'm confused how that happened.

The flat turner end is too flexible. I like to be able to cut a grilled cheese sandwich or omelet in half while still in the pan, this struggles to be strong enough for the job. I'm going to return.

These are great, but a bit hard to clean. You need to scrub them after cooking eggs since the dishwasher won’t do the trick. My old one had some of the silicone break off so I got a replacement.

Maybe this was just my experience, but when I put the spatula in the dishwasher then used it to flip my scrambled eggs, my eggs ended up tasting like dishwasher detergent! Silicone absorbs easily, so I’ll just be hand washing it so it doesn’t get too hot and take on the soap taste. It has a great shape, smoothness, and bends easily so outside of how it has to be cleaned, it’s a nice flipper

Got this for my niece after she admitted she only owned one spatula. She has non-stick pans and was carefully using a metal spatula. This one has a nice size/shape and works well on either. Very glad I got it.
