Freshly steamed vegetables are a snap with the OXO SoftWorks Steamer with Extendable Handle. The telescoping handle extends and locks into position for filling and transporting, and retracts so you can put the lid back on your pot to steam. The handle also features a hold so you can lift it using a fork and keep your hands away from the hot pot! The feet on the Steamer fold for storage and open up to 1 3/4-in so plenty of water can be used for steaming. Simply remove the handle when the entire basket is needed for steaming large items like fish fillets. The sturdy, stainless steel Steamer is dishwasher safe.

Q: Hi, I’m a very serious person for toxic, heavy metals usage. I love stainless steel. But I see that plastic handle in to the pot when heating process. How it could be still healthy if that plastic comes to the pot with hot steam.

I just unboxed and washed this stainer and it the outside edge cut my wrist it’s so sharp. You have to wear rubber gloves with this thing when you wash it if you don’t want to break skin. Clearly a poor design and was not tested prior to mass producing them because it is not a user friendly design

As a steamer basket, it works as you would expect. However, while cleaning after the first use, I sliced my finger open on a sharp metal edge and bled for about 15 minutes. Upon further inspection, I noticed that this thing is all razor sharp edges. I will be extremely careful when using in the future. I will also be purchasing 2 more to use as self defense tools in the event of a home invasion. These will instantly transform you into a Freddy Kreuger like being, capable of taking down any threats.

This does the job and fits in a variety of pot shapes and sizes. But my husband and I BOTH cut ourselves on this thing in the process of washing it. There is no reason for it to have any sharp edges.

With this expandable steamer I can now cook them for as long as I want and they come out way better. Great to stem my broccoli. Big enough to cook for about 5 peaple.

The handle extends so that it is easy to pull out of a larger pot without touching the food and to avoid too much steam. It also expands which means it folds down for easy storage. I have a very small kitchen, so being able to store something easily is a priority for me. The handle can also be removed so you can cook more food and larger items like a filet. It’s a great addition to my kitchen. I always reach for OXO brand when I need a new thing for the house, it always hs amazing quality items that are easy to clean.

The OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Steamer with Extendable Handle is exactly what I needed! It is simple to use and fits directly in pots 8 inches or larger. It folds up for easy storage without taking up much space and the stainless steel design is extremely durable. The handle, which has a utensil slot to help safely remove the steamer from the pot, is removable so that you can steam larger foods and extends to allow for simple handling. The product is also dishwasher safe making for easy cleaning. I would definitely recommend this product!
