Q: Has the recipe for this soup recently changed? The texture seems really different in the last few cans I bought - more watery with the sweet potato shredded rather than in chunks.

I love Thai Food! I love Pacific brand soups! This one is absolutely terrible! I was so excited to buy this. I purchased two cans. I'm really sorry to describe it this way, but the only way I can is to tell you it tastes like that taste in your mouth after you've vomited. Again, I'm sorry for being graphic in that way, but that's really what it tastes like.

The soup clearly has a Thai taste to it... but it's so light and bland It almost feels like a beginners' taste of Thai... Needs more spices and heat. The soup could also use a little bit thicker chunks of potato. I added some Jasmine rice to it and that helped with consistency.

I really wanted to like this soup, I thought it would be perfect with chicken and rice. Unfortunately it’s a very odd consistency and the flavor profile is much too floral for my liking. The first couple bites weren’t bad but the after taste was just off.

The soup is really quite good. I like to add other ingredients to it or serve it with rice. It’s one of my favorite soups when I’m not feeling well along with chicken soup. If you’re looking for a quick dinner this is pretty good.

Due to having dairy allergies, I have trouble finding a decent variety of canned soups I can have. And, most of my diet consists of canned soup. I just opened the can I purchased awhile back. So good. The texture and consistency is similar to chowder, which is perfect for me. It could easily make it smoother using an emersion blender. You could probably also add a touch of coconut milk, to keep it dairy-free, and thin it out, once blended. It's nicely seasoned, but not super spicy. I have acid reflux, and I think I'm going to able to handle having this occasionally. I was heartbroken, when I spilled a significant portion of the one cup serving. I added a pouch of chicken to it, to add some protein, and compensate for the spilled amount. Very nice! A very happy find for my pantry.

I didn't care for the texture especially with pieces of carrots. The only vegetable in the soup was carrots. Very orange in color. It reminds me of squash soup. I was able to taste lime, sweet potato, lemongrass, carrots and garlic. I didn't like it as soup but I thought it may be good as a dip. I know this is weird but it reminds me of the frozen beef and bean burrito. The spice was very subtle I felt it on roof of mouth. There really wasn't any seasonings plain and bland. I don't think this will be a top seller. Others may like it but I'll pass.

Taste like ginger sweet potatoes soup it is creamy just supper gingery and slaps you in the face with ginger . Good if your sick . But i was expecting a creamy sweet potatoes

It is really thick and I could not handle the texture of the soup. The flavor was amazing though so if you like thicker soups this is a great one.

I wasn't disappointed at all- it was quite good. It is thick, but smooth, even with the small, soft chunks of sweet potato adding a little texture to the otherwise drinkable soup. I did notice that the taste was very "carrot-forward." Meaning that if I was blind taste-testing, I would guess carrot soup instead of sweet potato. The only tweaks I'd make would be to adjust the carrot/sweet potato flavor ratio, and to make the sweet potato chunks a bit larger.
