Just finished pressing and hanging this valance and it looks so right, hung above the kitchen sink window on an inexpensive tension rod. I have another of this style and fabric (Lemon Pepper) over the door to the patio, and on either side of that door are bay windows with the swag valances in the same fabric. As for the details: These are in a midweight Indian cotton madras that steam presses crisply. The plaid design is woven, not printed, and the colors are those you will find in French and English Country decor -- muted gold, darkish red, and a sagey green on a pale gold background. This valance is lined and appears to be well sewn. The only "con" I have is that the upper part of the valance does not pattern match the bottom. All in all, though, I'm OK with that and am certainly overall happy with this purchase.
