Paul Mitchell Fast Drying Sculpting Spray - 8.5 fl oz

Why did you change this hairspray???? I have used it since the 80’s & it has always been perfect to style & hold my fine thin hair. I have had a short spiky haircut for many years now & it held it amazingly but now I get frustrated everytime I try to fix my hair! IT IT IS NO LONGER FAST DRYING!! It’s like spraying water on my hair & it flattens my hair before it ever drys!! The smell is horrible. Smells like rubbing alcohol. I am so upset that after 40+ years I have to find a new hairspray!!!

So sad. Used for years, since '80's. Just got new bottle...sticky, makes hair flat, does not even hold. Probably another trial recipe. Very upsetting after all these years of wonderful.

*Bought a 32 oz refill in July 2024* New formula is just bad. It smells bad, and I have to use LITERALLY 3X as much to get the same effect, which causes buildup of gunk. Previously I would use as my only styling product, and it worked so well that sometimes I could splash on a little water the next morning and re-shape my hair to a "good enough" state to get through half the day. Now it starts to collapse after about 4 hours. This was the best stuff going all the way back to the early 90s when my aunt, a hairdresser used it extensively and passed on her love of JPM products to me. I don't know what to say now. I can't express enough how that fragrance transported me back to childhood, and now it's gone forever. That might be the worst part of this formula change. It was a perfect scent for both women and men; just light and fresh enough to not smell super feminine, and perfectly balanced in a way that blended well with other scents typically used by both sexes. Please go back to the old formula

I’ve also been using this product since the 80’s but seen all these reviews how they have changed the formula oh no it really used to be the best if you want to send me a small sample please feel free to cause I still have some of my very very old bottle left and will compare thank you

I have used Fast Drying Sculpting Spray since the mid 1980's. Up until now, I have loved this product BUT the new formula is the pits!!!!! It no longer has the wonderful scent and now my hair feels dry and is very hard to brush out. I have an older bottle (thankfully) to show the original ingredients. I purchased a liter size in Dec 2023 and the ingredients listed on the new bottle are completely different!!!! Why would you change the formula on something that has been so awesome for years?! If I am not able to find this product with the original ingredients, I will sadly change after almost 40 years of satisfaction. :(

I have been using this product for 20+ years. Loved it! Why did you change it? It is awful. It is now watery and creates a buildup on my hair. My hair stylist had to use a special shampoo to remove the buildup on my hair. Please go back to the old formula. I can no longer use this product, and based on other reviews, I see that many others who have expressed disappointment with the changed product.

Have used this product for years and years - please let your customers know that you have changed a product! Nothing like former product! Please go back to old formula and let us know what we can switch to that is most like old product!!!!

I bought this because the local beauty supply didn't have Soft Sculpting Spray Gel and the salesgirl acted like it was discontinued. Unfortunately, the Fast Drying Sculpting Spray burns my scalp when sprayed.

I have used this product for more years than I can remember and loved it. I recently ordered two large bottles because the store where I normally purchase it never has it in stock. Since I have started using from these bottles my hair has been looking terrible, it looks like I have stopped styling it and most of the time it looks like a wet dog. I am so frustrated and disappointed with Paul Mitchell products. Now I am in the process of trying to find a product that works as well as Paull Mitchell did before they totally screwed up a good thing.

The formula has changed recently and it no longer holds; makes my hair staticky and fly away, which was never the case with the original formula. I have fine wavy hair and the original formula was perfect for me. Long lasting hold is now a thing of the past. So disappointed. Why do manufacturers change a good product?

Please bring the original formula back! I have used this professionally over 25 years, it used to be my go to spray! So Sad!!

I’ve used “Fast drying Sculpting Spray (the original) for a number of years. Bought the new stuff. Thought it was the same. WRONG. Just like a lot of great products, the manufacturers attempt at making it better, RUINED IT. I look like a wet had now when on stage.

I’ve been using this product for many, many years. Love that it dries quickly, holds very well and after brushing, feels like you never had a spray in your hair. Even my mother switched from the sticky, hard spray she used for years.

I have used this product for YEARS, and I have always been happy with it. My last bottle, however, was very different. The spray is much wetter, and it pretty much flattens out the style that I had after blow-drying. I checked the ingredients on the back of the new bottle and compared them to my old one--yes, they are different. Please go back to the original formula!!!! This is supposed to add body and volume, not subtract from it.

Does not hold my hair good don't like flexible style what happened to the plain old fast drying sculpting spray?

I’ve been using this Sculpting Spray many years but having difficulty finding it. No other products measure up to this. I have fine hair and in my 70’s it’s getting thinner.

Works great for fine textured hair. Drys very fast but doesn't feel hard or look like excessive product is there. Provides great hold through a workday and is saving my sanity while I'm growing my hair out longer.

This product helps control my long curly hair. I use this as a finishing spray over Ultimate Wave. Helps keep the frizz away.
