Assembly is fairly straightforward but the instructions should be more detailed. The point could not be illustrated better by the various posted photographs where buyers have decided to put both knobs on the bottom drawer, which I think is the original design, whereas others have put one on the large door. Some reviewers mentioned the lack of chickenwire on the bottom. I think they are entirely justified as the instructions do indicate chickenwire.

The cage design is pretty good but the screening is somewhat loose! I hoped for it to be more snug so that when I hang accessories on it they will stay put firmly. Also, since there is no bottom when the tray is removed the birds can get out. So I was forced to remove the screening and re-install it by putting tension behind it. As for the drawer, I hope I can order another one so that when one needs to be cleaned I can replace it with a spare drawer.

We ordered this to use as a catio, as another customer did. We have a small back porch on our apartment. It has turned out well, but we've made a few modifications. Unpacking it was very challenging, because there were little foam packing pieces all over it. Once we vacuumed all of those off of it, assembly wasn't too difficult. It came in pretty good shape. The small ladder was broken in one spot, but we were not planning on using the ladder because it was intended for use with a cat, not a bird. We chose to put on a mesh roof, rather than the roof provided. We put a cat tower in it as well. The cat enjoys having the ability to be outside, and overall, it was a good purchase.

It would be so much better if this product had better instructions to it and the cage was stronger. Also there is no chicken wire on the bottom of my cage not sure if it just comes this way or they forgot to put it but I had to get chicken wire and do it myself so my birds don't fly out the bottom as I clean the cage. Overall a cute cage for small birds.

The delivery was super fast and the cage was super easy to assemble. My finches love it!

So i did end up liking this after i put it all together but this is a cage that a distructive bird or a large parrot could easily get out of i have a quaker parrot so this cage is just sturdy enough for her.

The structure is a very basic type of wood, do some easy pre-drilling and all screws will get in fast, tight and crack-free. I Installed a thermometer in the front to keep temp/humidity under control. I used the stair that comes with it as a ceiling under the roof and added the "cave" of my iguana with a heat mat for the winter. Can be good for birds, small/medium sized reptiles, ferrets, etc.

It's a big, inexpensive aviary. It cost me hundreds of dollars less than most I considered. It came quickly. I recommend you put it together with a friend or partner. We have ours indoors and my dove is very happy.

Love this bird cage! Easy to assemble with just 1 person, just takes a little longer. Fast shipping and no damages. I would totally recommend this for your feathered babies. I'm actually planning on purchasing another one for my love birds.

As this is my third pawhut I have assembled it was what I expected. All mine, a rabbit hutch, a catico and this one are not for outdoors. I can't wait to use it! I knew what I was getting it's an excellent inside avairy for my cockatiels. Will I buy pawhut again. ABSOLUTELY lol

What a great deal on a nice cage! By far the best we've seen, and we had been looking for a larger inside cage for our parakeet for a long time, but most were just too expensive and often ugly. This looks really nice and was easy to assemble. Our parakeet loves it! We can see how much happier she is to have room to roam.

Purchased as a small ¡®catio' for an apartment patio: RECOMMEND FOR KITTIES! Overall, very pleased. It certainly wasn't the easiest to assemble as instructions are limited, but if you have any experience putting furniture together, you'll be fine. It's a lightweight wood. Took maybe two hours to assemble. Cat is 12lbs, for reference. As much as it wasn't a seamless assembly, I gave it five stars because for what you pay and what you get it's definitely worth it.

The product arrived timely and all parts were accounted for. Once it was assembled it looks great and I'm very happy with the finished product. The directions were a nightmare though! Took way longer to assemble than necessary. Just happy it looks good!

The time from ordering to shipping was very reasonable, and so was the price. I ordered two of them, because my two European Starlings don't get along. I don't know how the birds will like it yet because I have yet to furnish these and move them in. I won't use the ladder but parrots I'm sure would love it. The instructions were diagrams only, no verbal instructions. I was able to figure out how to put it together from these diagrams plus the already drilled screw holes and a pencil line here and there. I'm not saying it was easy, but I did it! Of course the second one was much easier once I had it figured out. I assembled both in about 4.5 - 5 hours. I think handy tools to have on hand would be a pencil, if you want to mark the wood with the letters and numbers when you are first figuring it out, and for marking holes maybe when you put on the door hinges,, a small and medium sized Phillips screwdriver, a punch and hammer for making screw holes. For the most part, the screws go in very easily. I only needed to make pilot holes for the small screws on the door hinges. I think it's well designed and attractive. I'm not sure it's heavy enough to have birds in it outside 24/7, if I were to put birds out 24/7 I might put a bigger, sturdier metal cage around it because in my area we have mink and I know a person who lost a lot of birds in aviaries to mink who were in permanent wood frame cages with hardware cloth that he built. And I've seen Racoons claw apart really well built wooden structures to get at birds. I would feel comfortable putting my birds in these outside for the day if I was out in the backyard with them, or with them off and on so predators would be staying away. And I'd build and add a wooden box for them to get into just in case something grabs at them. European Starlings adore hanging out in boxes some of the time so I'm going to build them a couple anyway even though I will be using these indoors for the time being. But I'm not an expert. I was attracted by the appearance, and value for the size. They are also lighter in weight than I expected for the size. Some of the wood is somewhat soft which lets the screws go in easily, making it pretty easy to assemble. That's ok for housing starlings, because they do not chew like parrots do. I am very happy with these so far!
