My cat went crazy for these the first time, but I didn't notice any difference in her behavior, and she hasn't been interested since. The last time I tried to give her one, she tried to eat it but it was so hard and tough that she had trouble chewing it and gave up. The worst part, though? They smell absolutely HORRIBLE. As soon as I opened the bag for the first time, I was shocked. Even with the bag resealed shut, and then put inside a Ziploc, I get overwhelmed by the smell just by opening the cabinet these treats are in. I've taken to breathing through my mouth, but if I get a whiff, I actually gag. If I can't get my cat to enjoy these, they'll be going into the trash soon.

This took 2+ weeks to ship and the treats were old and dried out. My cat wouldn’t eat them.

My cats are not attracted to this as a treat, they do not find them tasty. The product, however, is very effective. I crunch the treat and mix it with water, then give it to them with a syrenge in their mouth. One of my cats is very hyper and gets in trouble, instead of prescription vet drugs I am able to give him this. It has mellowed him down without making him groggy. My other cats, one is a scaredy cat and the third one has anxiety. This helps with them too. Good product, just not appealing to my cats as a treat.

At this price or really any price I'm super disappointed. My cats are not picky but won't eat these. They will ignore them completely. Plus, they are SO BIG for a cat - I break them up and mix them with other treats they like and they still eat around them. I wouldn't recommend.
Was great, but no longer

We have been using these for years, and it worked fantastic, and the cat loved them. The last batch looked and smelled different, and our cat won't touch it. Big disappointment. Would love to know what happened, and whether they are going to go back to the other formulation. If they do, we would buy them and give a good review.

I've been getting these from a local pet shop for about a year. My cat loved them. Got 2 new bags last week... cat will not touch them! The chews are much softer now than previously, and a lighter color. The recipe is different or this is a bad batch. Very disappointed!!

These are too large for cats. I broke them up and 1 cat refused to eat it, the other licked it but either didn’t want to eat it or just couldn’t get the piece in his mouth. Can’t say if they actually work or not because my cats won’t eat them.
MY CATS WON'T EAT THESE ANYMORE.

My cats have been eating these for 10 months. The most recent bag I bought, they will not eat them. They look lighter in color. Not sure what happened. I am so disappointed. Not sure if formula was changed or if I got a bad batch. Up until my most recent purchase, I would have given them Five Stars!!!

Angry Cat Approved!

If you've got an angry slightly feral beast in your home like I do, these might do the trick. He's pretty picky so I honestly wasn't sure he'd even go for it. I think this helps with his pain (I asked, but he wasn't telling), and it's nice to see the frothing beast turn into the sweet guy I know is in there deep down.

I can't say whether these work for calming purposes, because they were so hard I was unable to crumble these up for my senior cat, who is missing some teeth. Not sure if they were expired? No date on package that I saw. Or perhaps stored in the wrong conditions? In any case, I don't recommend due to this issue.

Question: does this product suppress a cat's appetite? My cat is not eating and I don't know if it's the stress or the product.
Tasty but hard to eat.

My cat seemed to like it, but she is old and the pieces are a bit large for her to bite, so a lot is left over after she licks it a bit.

My rescue kitten has abandonment issues/anxiety and cerebellum hypoplasia. He's a sweetheart but he can be a lot. While he still gets stressed when he's not around a human or furry friend, these treats did give me back a full night sleep. He used to meow incessantly at 5 AM just simply wandering around my room! He used to wake me up, now I wake him up! I definitely think he's happier. He also LOVES them. The minute he smells one he starts going crazy for it! Thank you for helping me and my little man!
Amazing stuff!! My boy gets one every day!

My boy has struggled with anxiety since he was a kitten. He's 5 now. We tried medications and different calming treats but we were never really happy with how doped they made him. We tried this brand and we are so pleased with the results!!! He's active and alert without all the anxiousness he had before! Customer for life!
Would definitely recommend this product

Using to control FHS symptoms

I'm using Calming for a different reason. My cat has no behavioral probs and is pretty chill. About a month ago he developed feline hyperesthesia syndrome (FHS). It seems to be a fairly mild case, some days are worse than others. I was getting ready to order a gabbapentin prescription for him when I came across Calming. Not a lot is known about FHS, except that probably has something to do with brain activity. When I read how Calming works I figured it couldn't hurt. It really does minimize the symptoms. He rarely has an episode for 4-5 hrs. after eating one chew.. I'm now just figuring out the amount that works best - 2 a day was not quite enough, 3 a day seemed to make him a little to lethargic. I'm currently giving him 2/3 of a chew 3 times a day and it seems to be working out. He's not crazy about the chews, I don't think he cares for the texture, but he eats them. I find giving a treat that he loves at the same time helps I don't know if this will work for all cats with FHS but it seems to be helping mine. I think it's worth a try before resorting to prescription meds. Like with everything, check with your vet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I definitely think my cat enjoyed these. They smelled tasty and he'd eat them right up. However, I didn't notice any calming effect on him from them.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. Sometimes, the results of the Calming chews vary depending on the size of the pet and the level of stress they are exhibiting. We do suggest following the directions for use on the label, which indicate how many chews should be given based on the weight of the pet. Since this is a supplement, not a drug, it is safe to give pets double, or even triple the recommended dosage in times of increased stress. Hope this helps you and your kitty!
