The wooden handles fit comfortably in the hand, and the long rod ensures enough distance from the source of heat. The cast iron can be used immediately, for it is provided with a (grade 3 soybean oil) pre-seasoned finish. For cleaning, you simply separate the cast iron halves thanks to the hinge.
