PetSafe Automatic Ball Launcher - Gray

The longest setting throws the ball 5 feet. At best. The dog doesnt even have to run. Just takes a step. Yes I adjusted the settings. Its not a good product. Or sell it for indoor use only. The longest distance is still safe inside. Not happy at all.

My dog loves this but she chews up the tennis ball are there other options of a different ball I can use

This is a great ball launcher, just too loud when launching the ball. Doesn’t seem to scare our dog but I wouldn’t want to be holding a baby when it launches- they would probably start crying!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an absolutely amazing toy, HOWEVER, my dogs are small and this is just too much. That being said, I gave it to my friend with a larger dog and they LOVED IT. This thing is a cannon and launches the ball a good distance. It seems well constructed too. The only reason it's 4 out of 5 is being its so loud. this is strictly an outdoor toy.

I was really looking forward to having my dog play with this. She is a 4 year old German Shepherd that is full of energy. I was shocked at how loud it was. My dog was terrified of it and would not play with it. I tried treats and other ways to try and get her to play with it but she refused. I would not recommend due to the loud noise it makes.

We bought this for our dogs for Christmas. They love it. But they are strong chewers so we are going through tennis balls pretty quickly. My dogs are more used to playing with lacrosse balls, because they last longer for them. Wish the launcher could handle those.

As with anything new, you have to reward your dog and introduce the new toy with lots of praise and treats. It does make noise in order to launch the ball so any dog would be weary at first. You must do your part as their leader to show them it’s fun and nothing to fear.

My dog is scared of the sound :( she wont go near it and its disappointing because it was so expensive.

You can change the distance and the angle of the machine to your liking if you have a large or small yard. We taught our dogs to drop the ball in it themselves pretty quickly and they love to play with it. It even has a rest timer on it so your dog doesn’t go crazy and run himself to death. I think any fetch loving dog will love this toy.

I like the way you can set it from a soft throw all the way up to a far throw. It also has a sensor to not launch if the dog is too close. This is a great idea for indoor or outdoor play for your pup!

It does make a loud thud when the ball is launched, which startled my dog at first, but she got used to it fairly quickly. I love that you have several options to change the distance and angle settings. I have it set-up in my basement and it works great!

Easy and quick to set up and play with. The only issue my dog did not like the loud noise it made when it shoots the ball out. We tried a few times and she didn't like.it still.

I love to have this outside when I'm gardening. I can have a stack of tennis balls that I can keep going for them until they get bored. I also love how the distance is adjustable so I can use it indoors without breaking a window.

My favorite features are that it doesn't shoot the ball at his face if he's standing right in front of it (the motion sensor pauses it) and I can turn the settings down enough that I can use it inside. The actual mechanism is kind of loud when it shoots the ball out and I wish it was a little quieter, which is why I took off a star. Other than that it's cool that it pauses after awhile to give the pup a break if he's going to hard and the ball drop is a good size for him to make the ball back in. Saves my arm from throwing and hand from slobber, so win all around!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to help me entertain my dogs. They love me throwing the tennis ball to them. After awhile it does get old though. This product is good as you can use it indoors or outdoors. Only downfall is it takes 6 D size batteries and it makes it a bit heavier. Took me a while to figure out the perfect launch setting. Machine does make a louder noise on launching the ball. At first it really scared my dog, but they got used to it. Teaching my dogs to put the ball back into the launcher was easier than I thought. She still will drop it at my feet, but has no problems dropping it into the launcher herself. After about 15 minutes the machine will rest and this makes my dog upset as she still wants to play. By the time it's reset she's off doing something else. All in all it's not the most sturdy of machines but seems to hold up fine.

When we got a chance to try out the Petsafe automatic ball launcher, I literally jumped at the opportunity and I am so happy I did because it's awesome. We are usually worn out and ready to stop throwing the ball, way before our dog is and now he is able to play as long as he wants to thanks to this automatic ball launcher. We were able to get him trained to bring the ball back and drop it into the launcher in less than 30 minutes and now he can chase balls until his heart's content. The launcher has a built in motion sensor so it won't throw the ball if you or your dog are close enough to get hit by a ball and best of all I no longer have to touch those slobbery balls.

I initially tried this out indoors because for some reason I questioned how well it would work, and I quickly realized that was a mistake as a tennis ball ricocheted around my tiny apartment narrowly missing artwork, instruments and a television set. That said, my dog got a kick out of it, so I guess it did its job. Outdoors, this thing is great! My pup learned how to use it quickly, though he does struggle with staying 5 feet back from it. The sensor keeps it from shooting if anything is standing too close to avoid knocking out Fido with a rubber ball. Overall, this is great for overactive pups! I love that you can change the distance it shoots, and the automatic timer is a great way to make sure my dog doesn't overwork himself. I highly recommend it!

Plug the ball launcher in, drop the balls in the top of the launcher and off the balls go, getting launched through the yard for your dog to chase and play. I use 3 balls at a time so by thw time my dog comes back with the ball the launcher is launching another ball out for them to chase. You could even train your dogs to drop the balls into the top of the launcher after retrieving for hours of fun!

Simple to operate, she figured out how to dropped the tennis balls back in fairly quick and she seems to be having so much fun.
