About the Book

Piper's Pet Pursuit is a funny and heartwarming story of how a little girl's persistence and passion for animals takes her an her parents on an unexpected and quirky path to pet ownership.

Book Synopsis

Children everywhere can relate to Piper's longing for a real furry friend.

Despite her eagerness to prove she is ready for a pet, Piper's parents continue to say "no." Frustration mounts until several unexpected and somewhat icky (according to her parents) house guests give Piper a much-needed distraction.

Embodying the values her parents instilled in her, Piper goes above and beyond for these visitors and even rescues a few creatures from outside. Piper learns lessons about kindness, perseverance, and creativity.

In a funny twist, the wacky events of the week, including a stunning transformation of her bedroom, lead Piper and her parents closer to what she desires the most.

So who visits, how does Piper care for them, and does she reach her goal in the end? Grab a copy of this creepy-crawly picture book to find out!

Review Quotes

Kirkus Reviews (Verdict: "Get It") (January 2024): A funny, creepy-crawly story about determination and inclusivity. (...) Peres' full-page, full-color cartoon illustrations are bright and feel larger than life. Preschoolers who have been asking their own parents for pets will giggle at the lengths to which optimistic Piper will go, seemingly unaware the mess she's creating. Cino provides a picture book that's simultaneously relatable and over the top.
