Q: Does this also act as a toner or will I still have to use one?

A: I use this in place of a toner on clean and dry skin, and it works better than any toner ever has. You won't need a toner with this retinol tonic.
submitted byIndya_dawson - 7 years agoA: On the Pixi website, it doesn't list this as a toner, but as a treatment. However, toners serve no purpose for skincare really, so you could use this as your "treatment toner". It would make most sense to you this on bare skin because it means more retinol gets in your skin and does its magic more effectively! If you have another product beneath it, less retinol will absorb into the skin

The approach Pixi takes when formulating products is to blend a specific cocktail of ingredients together, so although there may be a focus on an individual ingredient, that ingredient is part of a synergistic blend. The blend of ingredients is carefully selected to achieve the results and the efficacy of retinol for maximum results. We don't disclose the percentage of retinol in our products as this is part of our unique formulation. This smoothing tonic is formulated for all skin types.

A: I follow up with a serum! Vitamin c in the AM and a nighttime repairing serum at night. I think maybe avoid retinol serums unless your skin isn't sensitive.

A: It is important to wear Sunscreen Daily! We always recommend sunscreen when using Retinol. Retinol helps reduce the signs of aging but sunscreen prevents it. You want to ensure you are protecting your investment which is your skin!

A: It has hydrogenated castor oil at the end of the ingredients... people usually tolerate hydrogened castor oil well and it is frequently added to products to add viscocity. Hope this helps!

Throughout the years I've used various toners, but this happened to be my top favorite one! This is the 2nd time I am purchasing this particular toner by Pixi skintreats retinol tonic. I love that it has retinol(which is great for your skin from fine lines to acne) and jasmine flower. It's alcohol free, paraben free, not tested on animals and great for all skin types. Peptides firm the skin and boost collagen production. It leaves my skin smooth, soft, and clear! This 4.2 fl oz is great for traveling and a quick touch up after running around with errands, gym sweat, and the Texas summer heat my skin loves so much hahah. I use it daily and I am loving it! I would highly recommend it, as it has worked for me!

So surprised this actually helped smooth my skin! I noticed a difference in just a few days and even better after a week and more of use! I thought maybe it was just my skin being better so I stopped using it and my skin started going back to how it was so I know this toner actually works! It's not exfoliating at all but smooths. It didn't feel moisturizing to me so I always used a moisturizer afterwards.

I love most Pixi products but not this one! Being a senior citizen with normal to dry skin I haven't had a problem with acne in many years! But after using this Pix Retinol Tonic, my face broke out. It cleared up once I stopped using this and went back to using my favorite Pixi Botanical Collagen Tonic!

Neither love nor hate this product because it doesn’t seem to make a huge difference in my skin. I apply it by putting a small amount into my palm and then gently pat it into my face after cleansing and before serums. The smaller size bottle lasts ages this way and it helps serums absorb and spread. It’s hard to say if this product really did much or if it was other products I was using. When using this product my face does seem a bit brighter and smoother in the morning, but I also don’t notice a big difference when I stop using it. Smells don’t really bother me if a product works, but be warned if they do bother you that this product smells like Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sausage lol I won’t be repurchasing because I’d rather get my retinol from stronger products, but if you want a gentle retinol to start, you might try this.

I have been using Glow Tonic for years but I decided to switch it up and try the Retinol Tonic, and I'm so glad I did. I noticed some very fine lines on my forehead and I'm trying to keep them from getting deeper. After using Retinol Tonic in conjunction with my Botanical Collagen & Retinol Serum, I've noticed a significant change in the appearance of the lines on my forehead. My skin instantly looks more plump, feels hydrated and my forehead lines are barely visible. I also love how gentle this tonic is. I know that Retinol can sometimes be irritating to the skin, but I use Retinol Tonic every evening and haven't had any discomfort. Smell is pleasant, a very light scent of Jasmine.

I have dry, slightly sensitive skin prone to photo aging and texture. I bought this and the Jasmine Retinol Lotion as a beginner to skincare. My skin was amazingly plump after I starting using them over the summer. I did not repurchase because I assumed the improvements in my skin were due to previously not having a skincare routine at all. I thought I could achieve the same results with more affordable options. I WAS WRONG. For a couple months I’ve been feeling my skin looked dull and my fine lines have been noticeable. Since I have been sticking to a routine with actives still, I assumed it was the changing weather or related to my diet or hormones or something. Then I found I had a few applications of this left to use and every time I do, there is a very noticeable improvement in fine lines, plumpness, and overall glow to my complexion. I searched the ingredients on skincharisma and it is FULL of humectants (ingredients that draw moisture into the skin). It’s possible the people who saw no benefit from this have oily skin because I can’t imagine anyone with dry or dehydrated skin not being floored by the results. I will not go without this again.

I love the cute little bottle the pretty lavender color and the smell of this product! As far as doing anything for the skin I’m not sure but it’s lovely after cleansing for freshening the skin. Wish it came in larger size and smelled like the name on label Jasmine instead it smells of rosemary which is also so nice. All in all I love this product! It’s a pleasure to use! Keep your products smelling fab Pixi smells have a lot to do with our well being

In a word - life changing. Ok, not really. But this has radically changed my complexion. I struggle with chloasma and occasional acne. Coming off the summer season, my skin usually rebounds and I have breakouts and my complexion is dull. I am using this only at night, and there are a few new pimples in places I don't usually get them - but that is to be expected with any retinol product. But, by and large, I have noticed a major difference in my skin's tone, its brightness, and the fine lines around my eyes - almost immediately. Within the week. I know every product isn't for every person - but if you are in your 40s (I am), and struggle with some skin issues, this may be a game-changer for you.

Didn’t see any results. Too expensive. Price range is with high end lines that work way better than this. I have dry skin and this felt like there was a film left over on my skin after it was dry it was kind of sticky whether I used a little or a lot.
