A: Hi - the lamp base has a hand-applied ceramic finish, so slight variations in color and pattern will occur, but to out eye it os all shades of blue color tones. Thank you for the question.

A: Hi - the lamp body is ceramic. There is a small bushed nickel finish metal stand at the very bottom along with a clear acrylic accent.

Q: does this take a traditional 3 way with the max being 150?

A: Hi - this design does not have a 3-way socket switch, only an on-off socket switch. If you are looking for 3-way socket functionality, we'd suggest using this lamp with a line cord dimmer. This will give you much more lighting control than a 3-way bulb-socket, allowing you to set the light level to whatever you want. Thank you for the question.
