Q: if i ate my regular meals 3 times a day and just added this protein shake with it, would i gain weight/or muscle i should say? since it does have 30g of protein?

submitted by Jas - 4 years ago
  • A: That is way to complicated a situation to answer completely; however, simply adding a protein shake alone will not do anything but add calories and protein to your diet. If you are on an exercise program and are trying maintain or grow muscle mass--especially during weight loss--then adding this to your diet right after exercise will provide a boost in protein that your body needs for lean muscle development. This is also dependent on the types and amounts of exercise as well as the the components of the rest of your diet. Do your research or talk to a dietician (or your primary care physician) about your specific situation rather than just adding a protein drink to your diet. You don't want to be Beefcake Cartman.

Q: Is this a meal replacement, and is this for weight loss?

submitted by Mollie Dawes - 5 years ago
  • A: Protein shakes are not meant to replace a meal. Their role is to supplement your diet and make it easier to meet your daily protein requirements when you're active. Ideally, these beverages should be consumed before and/or after exercise. Whey protein shakes are best for fuel lean muscle tissue growth.

Q: Can a 14 year old drink this protein shake?

submitted by Maria - 10 months ago
  • A: Hi there. My 14 year old son is built slender just naturally, but about 6 months ago when I took him to the doctor for his well visit, the physician pointed out that he was a bit “too lean” and wanted to see him gain a few pounds (and this is despite having a healthy appetite to begin with). Well, I took it upon myself to give him one of these protein shakes at least every other day, and in 6 months he gained 8 pounds. :) I purchased the chocolate flavor (he likes them best cold). In any case, so far so good. He went to the doctor again recently and he was happy with my son’s weight gain. Hope this helps answer your question.
