I’ve been buying & enjoying Tazo Passion tea for over a decade now. It’s my daily brew. The flavor is THE ABSOLUTE BEST of any “passion” or hibiscus tea out there. It’s also better than any other herbal, caffeine free tea. Since hibiscus has been shown to lower blood pressure, it’s a perfect evening brew. As a Registered Dietitian, I have been recommending this tea to all my patients for many years now & everyone returns to say they LOVE IT. It is making it a bit tough to find Tazo Passion Tea at the local stores, but I find more or buy online. I hope Tazo never stops making Passion Tea!!

Microplastic Release: Studies have shown that tea bags, including those from brands like Tazo, can shed billions of microplastic particles into the brew when steeped. The Center for Environmental Health has identified Tazo as one of the brands whose tea bags contain plastic. Other brands with plastic tea bags: Teavana (Starbucks), Celestial Seasonings, and Mighty Leaf Teas (now owned by Peet's) are also mentioned as brands with tea bags that contain plastic. I have bought the Zen flavor - it had the herbs I wanted, but was less flavorful than similar blends from other brands.

Tazo said that their tea bags are mostly paper with some plastic added?!? This and a bunch of mysterious “natural flavorings?!” as ingredients. I do not trust this brand. Read up on what you are drinking!

I really love most all the tazo tea flavors. However, the passion flavor is among one of my top favorites. It has a bright burst of flavor and it's a little bit of happy in a cup for me. I love it hot, but I love it iced and lightly sweetened and the color is just so pretty with a pleasant aroma. Added bonus is my son loves this tea as well.

I have been a faithful drinker of Tazo Passion tea for years. But just learned that their teabags contain microplastics. So you're putting the teabag in boiling water, the microplastics and/or toxins leach out, then you drink it. That's not good at all. Horrific, reallly. And unfortunately Tazo no longer makes loose leaf tea, which would be an easy way to avoid the toxic teabag material. Unless Tazo changes to a natural, unbleached, non-toxic teabag material--and the safety of the teabag is verified by multiple independent third party chemists--will no longer buy.
